This, on the other hand, does not. Feel genuine, I mean.

I'm really struggling to read this as a real attempt to sus out Vira. It's pretty heavy on IIoA dovetailing into bland fence-sitting.

Waco do you become townier after #250? Because so far I'm not seeing it.

I like the pushback on Miner in 252 though.

Alright, I've stayed up as long as I can tonight, I think.

For tonight, I'll leave my detractors with this (kinda sorta a little bit) tongue in cheek meme:

Don't like this pushback, though. It's dragging Jan's mindset analysis back to a more simplistic narrative analysis. Feel like town!Koalas engages Jan on the point Jan was making about Typhon? Like, this isn't, "your reason for townreading this thing is bad and here's why," it's, "this could be fake", essentially.

Which definitely pings on the "scum doubtcasting townreads without symmetric analysis" radar.

Canceled workstuff. Got a appoinment with the doc in 4 hours.

Will try to sleep a bit before that.

Just one thing before I go.

    Vote fontisian

    Done with the patients game.

I have a shitton of town and a lot of stuff you have done so far makes me believe you are not one of them.

Come back. Bring some fire or get burned at the stake.

"I know I'm talking to town"

This doesn't read like Jarizok is talking to someone (Typhon) that he's called null like seven times and has said multiple times he needs to figure out / wants to talk about / wants to re-read.

The glaring lack of curiosity about Typhon's poke at him here really stands out when you consider Jarizok's stance on Typhon. I would buy this interaction if it were, say, Miner that Jarizok said this to, but this feels very clashing.

I am just waiting for the moment Newcomb reads my case on why I think Jari is town.

I am still fairly convinced that I am right on that one.

I had a similar thought Waco.

He made like 10-12 posts afterwards. Lost topposter spot to typhon.

The weekend is over, so there is that as a possible reason.
But I have seen it and agree that it is somewhat fishy.

On the other hand .. if scum!Jari knows one of the main things keeping him alive is his postcount, why would he slow down?

I am the only one that gives him cred for something other than postcount, I think.

Koalas, to be clear, are you just complaining about Typhon's playstyle or are you scumreading him?

Like, AFAICT your main thrust is "the difference in your wordiness is jarring." Like, clear and sharp versus rambling, or something. And this is a point you've been hitting for a while (like, since I posted that meme), and you've talked a fair bit about it, and like... okay, and..?

Should he slow down, probably not. But him doing that is one of the main reasons I caught him as scum in HP Mafia.

Yeah, I'm tapping out for the night. Made it to 274.

I'll have to get to my tom thing / rest of the catchup tomorrow.

Right now I'm feeling Jarizok/Rubicon/X OR tom/X/X. Don't think tom is with Jarizok, which Is Problem considering I think they're both independently scummy. Don't think tom is with Vira or His Fluff either. tom/Koalas/[fonti/Cobalt] maybe?

Continue to think Jan's pretty town. Typhon I was light town on, I think he's pretty solidly town at the moment. There are times I've felt like he was kind of trying to pocket me but some of his posts have a nuance I'm not sure he'd be able to pull off as scum. At the very least I'd be impressed at some of them.

Miner I thought was town early but the peg I'm hanging that read on feels a little weak. Had kind of a "spewed town" vibe but that's also based on... feels, pretty much. Don't want to lynch toDay, not sold on town though.

Think Vira's clear if tom's mafia but I need to check my work on that; in general I think she'd be a bit more impressive / focused if scum here; IIRC she was very appearance-focused in Hannibal Mafia and here she's more meandering / lowkey.

Waco, Cobalt, fonti, fluff basically straight null, haven't read anything they've done and had any lightbulbs.

    Elect: Jan

    More tomorrow.

Iirc, he was pretty active & town/Lt across the board D1, and then as we had a few flips and claims D2 it narrowed the pool, and he dropped way off in posting. Don't remember much more tbh

I forgot to make one of those :
    fontisian

Maybe she gets an email now and actually remembers to do some work.

While I am at it Cobalt . You too.

Right now I would rather have a scum that produces content to go through than a questionmark that is refusing to play the game.
If you are town then I need to actually reevaluate on some reads, but there is no way to know with what you have done so far.

Newcomb told us that he would be gone and is doing work. You guys .. nothing.

You mentioned early on that you "had a way to get a read on Jari later on". You don't I connected the two. You forced this onto me in the WH as well, I was town there.

Thing is, when there's no content D1 is when I'm most active and abrasive (one might call it awkward). It gets the ball rolling. Once the ball's rolling I can sit back and see what bumps it hits. This is not a scumtell. I've done this every game I've been in and I was only scum 1 out of those 4 times.

This also ties back into my "Rubicon read evolution". My "too easy" post had been quoted left right and centre, but there was no deeper meaning there. It's there for people to make cases out of, see what you guys make of it.

Rubicon was low on my first wall because I mostly noticed his Vira interactions early. Felt like every other post from both of them was about the other.

Later on Rubi abandoned his "Vira's town for saying doctor's useless" to being the minority scumreading her. When the flip first happened it felt to me like Rubi was getting some early bussing in because Vira was pretty widely townread and unlikely to be lynched.

When he pushed on Miner after Miner said "Vira's not getting lynched" I reconsidered. It's probably easier to hop on some likely mislynch bandwagon at that point if Rubi were scum.

I now feel better about Rubi than I did at the time of my wall, but I'm unfamiliar with him and am not yet comfortable with townleaning him.

    ---------- Post automerged at 11:09 ---------- Previous post was at 10:56 ----------

I just shrugged it off because I was preoccupied tbh.

Could I have enaged Typh to try and get a better read on him and make him townread me? Yeah, I probably should have.

I don't agree that I'm "I know I'm talking to town" there though. Either he's town and he'll see the light of my towniness soon enough, or he's scum and there's nothing I need to do there regarding my own alignment. This is me speaking in hindsight though. At the time I was simply unconcerned.

I probably thought showing my unconcernedness was a shortcut to getting him to townread me as well. I can see how you'd think that's a scummy though process but it is what it is.

    ---------- Post automerged at 11:13 ---------- Previous post was at 11:09 ----------

I don't know if you've got to the point yet where Typhon and I go through the whole AYAW 4 discussion again, but I'd like to mention it here once again.

This is not scummy for me, this is just me.

    ---------- Post automerged at 11:29 ---------- Previous post was at 11:13 ----------

They both had a "Let's get down to business" thing going. They talked about stuff that mattered to the game rather than fluff with the mechanics. This allowed for discussion, so I approved. I'm always looking forward to game start, so having actual things to discuss and people doing so is good for me.

I later realised that none of this IS >rand, which is why I moved them to null. Me liking having stuff to do shouldn't blind me to the fact that none of what they said is alignment indicative. I moved them to bottom null rather than just null to remind myself of that, protect myself from trusting them too much.

That's me done responding to Newcomb for now, since I realise I'm going in opposite reaction which might be annoying. Also, my realising tom is probably scum before he got back will probably get me points with him anyways.

I'll get down to some more solving of my own rather than responding later today.

My reads are now all over the place, so I honestly have no clue what to do.

Individually speaking I don't believe this is Jari's scum game. Granted, he could've improved, but he's only been scum once on this site.

I could see Jari/rubi, which newcomb pointed out. Don't think tom becomes the third scum in that situation.

I want newcomb to address kalas though, because he's been extremely polarizing with some having him at the top of their town reads and others thinking he's scum.

Initially I was scumreadin him. Now I'm waffling.

The main thrust of my arguement was two fold. First that the Typhon I remember playing with had clear, obvious town posts. Like more obvious then snow, a clear town/top town on everyone's lists. I've seen flashes of that throughout the game but for the most part it's just not there.

Second was the 'style' of his posts. Similar to the above but a distinct difference. 131 was the most obvious example of this in that its just.. needlessly wordy. All his paragraphs are near identical in length, regular block paragraphs. Its a common scum mistake when you're trying to hit 'long enough' as oppossed to just expressing your thoughts (compare to Jan this game, wordy but completely different). Again Typhon's been better as the game went on but its popped up again.

Now Typhon says this is all a style change which is.. ehh. You've used that line before an why change a style that so obviously worked before? But most took this at face value. And now even Vira's unvoted after starting an ISO.

Now I'm just spinning my wheels and getting that sinking feeling I went completely left field on D1.

As a general heads up I'll be at work for the last 2.5 hours of the day and I doubt I'll be able to respond in any meaningful way.
