That's a noble sentiment, but trust me, you're nowhere near that level.

The way you read games and express your thoughts frustrates me personally because there seems to be a disconnect between how passionate and engaged you are and how willing you are to make your thoughts transparent, or how much you rely on weak, ephemeral things like tone, but that is not really a big problem in the grand scheme of things.

I've played with plenty of people who have tons of technical skill but are too cool for school and don't try (*cough* D_V *cough*) and I'd take you over them 100 times out of 100.

Now let me get back to my catchup so I can start driving this game forward as opposed to, you know, catching up

There is very little wrong in the game of mafia.

You can be out of line by insulting or putting in a bit much emotions. (Things I have done in the past, I think).

But in general your playstyle is you. You can change it if you feel that you get misslynched every game for it, but you might just get misslynched for changing your playstyle for a few games after that (take a look at Koalas case on Typhon).

Tom has such a wide range (as far as I can tell) that he could do a lot of stuff as either alignment, which makes him somewhat of a *shrug* misslynch every towngame.
But it is also a great way to keep his scumway somewhat leveled.

You do you. The other people will get used to it or not.

Glanced through WH7 and my qt. WH7 may have been blended in my head with some other game we played together. Given that your shift in style started with that game and I was actually impressed with you that game obs is probably screaming at me.

As for keeping my vote on you.. that's where the game's been at. A lot of nulls and a lot of AFK's. I prefer the policy lynch you prefer the nulls.

    He is on the table.

My gut says that I liked tom s catchup, but the way he came around to townread me was off and I need for him to tell me when exactly that happened.

There was this thing, where he said "jan could still go either way" and then all of a sudden after several people had called me sure town for a day or two I was just close to lock town.
Maybe I am missing a big piece of the puzzle there, but it felt like a move he felt he had to do because of the state of the game and not something he wanted to do.

But I like Tom and can't read him well enough and hate misslynching him on d1, if he is town. It is jsut a thing that happens.

Koalas is only down there because I have no idea about him. Just nothing. Not even his fault but my mind is drawing blanks when I think of him right now.

TBH, I'd elect anyone to be owner so long as they a) laid out a solid plan, b) would increase the odds of townsided roles, and c) are somewhat townread by others.

I'm super confused over Koalas. Just super duper confused.

Since this I've massively infused my thread presence with words, and IIRC answered all questions directed at me.

What is your current read on me, Vira?

This is kinda where I am. Understand I'm not (trying) to be a dick and telling you you need to change or anything. And also I feel like this is one of those things that only really rears its head when we disagree, which probably seems unfair in a "choose the right reads(tm) or face my wrath" sort of way. And it's not just you whose playstyle I struggle with.

There's just a certain level at which... it's like fluff, kinda? Like, Fluff was someone I was perfectly happy to let lurk through the game. He was a good shrug lynch, always, but he sort of did his own thing and nobody really cared. Then he won like that. Now he can't go back to being Fluff anymore. Because his playstyle was always scummy, and we just let it go because it hadn't bitten us. Now it has, and now he's going to be lynched more unless he steps up.

But fluff was always passively scummy, and your style feels actively scummy, if that makes sense, so it puts people more on guard even though it hasn't bitten us yet. His issues were lurking like it was his job. You're very present, which makes the other things stand out more (things like sort of floating around, slanking away when things are serious, not giving definite opinions with anything backing them, etc.)

I'm not saying you shouldn't play the game how you want, because that's way overstepping. What I am saying is that some people aren't going to be ruffled by that style, and some are. I am one who will always pressure you over it (Newcomb is probably another). That's nothing personal on my part, I'm not salty at you for your playstyle, but it is a thing.

You know those games where it's D1 and you check yourself and you're like, "damn, I have too many townreads"?

This is not one of those games.

I might be overdoing it here but I am curious on how tom changes his read this fast in 12 hours :

maybe the fact that he used dark green and not light green clouded my judgement, but I am really curious where tom got the townread on me within those 12 hours.

    ---------- Post automerged at 20:40 ---------- Previous post was at 20:39 ----------

I get that feeling .. and I don't remember him being as nice in previous games, but do you think being nice is a scumtell for him?

See, but that's the thing, right? Nulls don't solve themselves. You have to try. And you have not. You've rested on a policy lynch vote on me over paranoia of my scum game (somewhere in the distance, Eido is cackling at this sentence), and said, "Ehh, fuck it. He could be scum. We can shrug lynch some inactives tomorrow if not."

You have to see why that's a problem for me, right?

Newcomb - I am more in a too many towns situation.

There is a reason I am inclined to kill useless people like fonti today.

    Not... really?

Not going anywhere near him today, I just can't shake the niggling feeling that this is what you get when scum!Typhon tries to replicate his town tone and cranks it to 110%.

    Koalas :

Was there a reason you picked Vira Fluffy and Cobalt as your three reads.
I might ahve missed someone asking for those three because I am only looking through your qt at the moment.

Just not sure how those three fit together.

    ---------- Post automerged at 20:51 ---------- Previous post was at 20:49 ----------

Okay I found Typhons post where you are talking about giving your view of the game, but not names get mentioned at all.

So why did you pick those 3?
Cobalt and fluff being close to non existant makes them weird picks to give reads on.

    ---------- Post automerged at 20:52 ---------- Previous post was at 20:51 ----------

Or is that the part that you were talking about when you said that you can talk about it postgame but not now?

    ---------- Post automerged at 20:56 ---------- Previous post was at 20:52 ----------
Koalas - you mentioned your top 4 lynches at the time being Typhon and the three failures, sorry, lurkers.

Could you give me a read on the other people?
Because you also said 4 posts earlier (not in thread posts, posts in your iso) that everyone but me was null/light scum.

What happened to those other people and how did you get townreads on them?

No. I'm not going to figure out the pile of nulls that has everyone scratching their heads on Day 1. That needs context we'll get on Day 2. I want to be right on you but I approached it a stupid way. Baring that I'd rather policy lynch no content.

I have no idea where you got me policy lynching Day 2 from but.. no.

I am adding Rubicon to the people I like pile.

Well he was hanging out near that pile anyway, but after reading his Iso I am getting a somewhat fresh feeling. And I like it.
