I thought exactly the same thing as the bolded yesterday, which was why I was planning to chain onto him immediately after the Rubicon scum flip. But rip.

But I'm not sure that it makes sense from Nacho if his partner wasn't in the nearby POE? Like, I thought he was playing that way because his back was against the wall - ie if he and Rubicon didn't powerwolf their way out of the tight spot they were kinda screwed because they were tied together, and so they doubled down to shake our resolve, etc.

I've read one Nacho game (a recent MTGS game I had to replace out of), so I can't say I feel like I have his playstyle locked down, but. What's the play there? Who is his partner that he can hard defend town for two days and not be worried that he's going to divert a lynch onto them?

I need to read before I talk specifics on Nacho, but I think Fluff is more likely (probably)?

Can you tell me why you're townreading Fluff?

Will do in a minute .. my townread on fluff was mostly related to the scumgame we played together, which is the only time he has ever rolled scum, I think.

But first something that I thought about while I was shopping ..

So .. Nacho and Tammy sub into the game back to back and both have to somewhat reread the game and all .. but I feel even after that their interactions have been fairly minimal.
Tammy said that she would need some actual interactions with Nacho to get a reliable read on him, but she was not live in thread that much ..
But Nacho on the other hand did not poke her, at least not a lot. I need to reread him to be sure about that part, but I do not remember a lot of interactions between them.

And somehow that makes me think they are unaligned, because if they were scum together they could try to play off it. Distance from each other or powerwolf, but there is basically nothing.

Gonna reread Nacho in a second for that and the reason stated before.

    Going back to fluff.
I don't think he is with Tammy, for the way Fluff interacted with fonti and prodded her about the mechnics stuff and voted me later for electing fonti. That progression made somewhat sense and I don't think it is faked.

He did not do anything close to that in the scumgame we played together.

Add to that that he was hyped to be scum that time and really looking forward to have some fun, and I think eh would have had a similar mindset going into this game.

But like .. he was of a single mind for most of d1 (The fonti mechanics -> vote on me thing comes from the same thought process).
He was mostly detached from the thread. That is not hard to fake, which is why I am always jumping between lock town and questionmark with him.

Oh yeah Fluff is not with Koalas either because he legit forgot putting him into his readwall d3 (?!). Fluff is not faking that part plus their somewhat taunting interaction afterwards was not w/w. #966

That leaves Fluff + Nacho as world for me that includes Fluff.

    ---------- Post automerged at 17:34 ---------- Previous post was at 17:31 ----------

Talking worlds .. the worlds I can see at the moment are :

    Koalas - Fluff
    Koalas - Tammy
    Kaoals - Nacho
    Nacho - Fluff

I am not sure about eliminating every other world, but those are the ones it comes down for me, I think.
Like killing of the Nacho/Tammy world just now .. feels right, but it is mostly me thinking what I would do in their position and not for things that actually happened.

About Nacho and his wording ..

A lot of it was the way he was saying "that we should lynch scum today" in our talk about possibly lynching Koalas.

The way he hammers in the same point is just something that sounds town, but all it is doing is discrediting my point.
I said that Koalas should die if we have a really solid case on him, but not if we don't.
He made it sound like I don't want Koalas to die ever regardless of the circumstances.

Another thing I somewhat disliked was this post.
Him commenting on the Vira quote when it was just not important and dead (because it happened way earlier and I already reacted to Vira saying that in the post directly following Viras), felt a bit like agreeing with something unimportant to seem towny.

I don't know .. maybe it is because I was involved somewhat in those posts, but they just rubbed me the wrong way.

Typhon do you have to hard town defend your partner? Or simply push two mislynches? Say Vira then obv!scum Kalas?
Jan question was only half rhetorical

Vira is my 2nd strongest town after Typhon.

Yes, she did not follow up on that Fluff thing, but she put him in a weak spot while she was lynching her other partner.
I just don't think that is a thing she does as scum.

Not much more to say on that topic.

    Important question.

Did you throw $1 on Auction Detective x1 on D2 and $1 on Jailkeeper on D4?

Can anyone counterclaim the Auction Detective x1 bid?

If not, then I’m going to allow Kalas to be town.

If he only did the $1 on D4, then I’d have a real struggle whether it’s a trick or not. But on D2 when Kalas wasn’t really being suspected, I don’t think he would do a little detail like that. I also threw a $1 on an item when I had lots of money on D1, but I didn’t know how the auction worked and thought I could only bid on one thing a Day.

Can I have a second and third opinion? Is this logic okay?

I mean technically someone else could have done it and there's no way to prove otherwise but whatever gets you there.

You don't think scum!Vira would make a throwaway comment on her partner then never follow up on it?

More than half of us are still alive, so there's over a 50% chance that someone could counterclaim that. That's pretty risky.

I meant if you bid $1 and I bid nothing nut I say I did there's no way to prove I didn't bid $1. The only proof you'd ever get is if I said I bid first but you won.

The comment is not throwaway. I don't think that comment is something a scum uses to describe the vote of a partner on the third scum.

It is just a way to discredit fluff and not give him any towncredit for the vote there.

I don't think it matters if she followed up on it or not.

Why are you that hung up on something that minor?
What are you doing at the moment? Who are your to suspects and why?

I get that you had an exams week, but apprently that is over now and we only have somewhat limited time left in the day.

You brought it up for why Vira/HF are never w/w not me. I don't agree with your analysis which is why I'm 'focusing' on it.

Right now I'm trying to get Vira squared away.

    Speaking of not following up.

Question to Jan about case he already made. Jan answered. Not a lot to follow up on but no thoughts on it after.

Questions to Rubicon with a backtrack in place. Never answered. No follow up.

Never directly answered but Nacho did post thoughts about me soon after so *shrug*. Wasn't followed up on.

Question to Typhon about scum Vira. Never answered. Wasn't followed up on.

Never answered. (To answer it: I'd stated my intent, was still getting thoughts together when Typhon posted). Never followed up on.

Answered by Rubicon! Somewhat addressed in 1314 so that's ok.

Ok so some follow up on the question to me but I doubt it would have happened without me talking about questions.

I didn't say I didn't follow his case? I said Rubicon -> Jarizok which was something Newcomb had said earlier.

Question about me that was answered and followed up on.

tld;dr in 20 posts there's 4 questions that were never followed up on. 1 half followed up on and 2 actually followed up on (though it was after being called out).

Hmm. The thing about Fluff is that it's so goddamn hard to divine anything from what he's said. Not everybody needs to wall or whatever, but some of my medium length walls have a higher wordcount than he does in this game. This feels like the Cobalt thing all over again, except with higher stakes.

I'm not sure that I can see Fluff/Nacho, just because I don't think he'd have opened on his partner and then voted with the same partner like he did if he was scum. Which might have happened, because bad =/= scum, but would have been sloppy as fuck in a way I don't even really want to have happened.

Honestly, if it's Fluff the partner is probably Jan.

If it's not Fluff... mmm. Idek. I'm pretty shaken off of my fuckup, to be perfectly honest. We eliminate those three from the lynch pool and we have Nacho/Tammy/Vira.

    I don't think it's Vira.

I really thought Tammy was a lot more towny than Nacho before, but I've never played with her before and it was kinda gutty. I see where people are pointing out things that weren't followed up on, and I can think of a few things that were sort of pocket-y, but I /kinda/ think those are a function of her being friendly and legitimately not having time rather than a scum strat.

It's sort of like the Fluff thing, where I really want to believe that at the very least.

So I guess I say that to say that I'll reread before EOD, but I kinda think that we should just lynch between Fluff and Nacho.

Okay so part of the reason I have a hard time seeing that koalas argument is it's so exaggerative. Every bit of that was asked in the last 36 hours of the day, and he made the accusation before I'd had a chance to post really today, and quite frankly the only thing I do care about is the koalas one, which I was going to follow up on, and I think it's scummy to try to claim I only did so because I was called out.

You don't have to follow up with everything asked because sometimes it gets answered. I asked rubicon that question about Jan because I had Jan as a decent town read and did not have rubicon as one at the time. I found the read weird and was trying to get a handle on him. I think he did answer, but I'm not going to waste what limited time searching to see. I got what I wanted anyway as rubicon and Jan interacted enough, and rubicon put in what looked like townie work yesterday hearing his read on Jan specifically didn't matter for what I needed. Quite frankly I forgot I asked that particular question, probably because I got what I needed.

I didn't need to follow up on typhoon/viral because a few pages after typhoon and rubicon both talked about that fonti thing, rubicon said it was a long time ago, and typhoon himself retracted that as being a strong reason to town read vira, so my question was answered and it needed no pursuit.

I did follow up on Jan's response about the mechanics. I told him that I couldn't answer for font's bidding practices and why she thought the way she did about mechanics, but that I've run into times when people have run counter to my expectations for how they would deal with mechanics and suspected them for it, but they were just townwith different ideas and thought that was happening here. He responded that we shouldn't discuss the mechanics anyway and that fonti probably didn't leave enough in the at that I could answer for anyway, which is true all I know is her bids on doctor.

All I had left was the you Newcombe thing, and I don't think you were in thread with me yesterday after I asked that question, and I wasn't here right away today.

I don't know why you would have a problem with people asking questions anyway. That just feels really weird.

Nacho - not cutting down your quote stripe cuz on phone but when you noted that vira's push on typhoon for overdwordiness what did you think about her responding that about Jan it was diffferent because Jan basically treated the thread like his own personal at?

I'm not particularly interested in rehashing any part of this argument; I thought you put it eloquently when you said we were screaming in circles. The reason why I emphasized that point is because I thought that it reduced the chances of us hitting scum, and I believe that lynching scum today is far and above our best chances of winning the game. I find your overall point weak because I believe that I am an intelligent enough player to realize that saying "we need to lynch scum" is not something that looks town, and would argue that a vast majority of scum players are smart enough to realize that they won't be getting townread for saying "we need to lynch scum".

The implication is that I was attempting to buddy Vira for towncred here. This doesn't mesh very well with me immediately moving into drudging up old posts by Vira and attacking Vira shortly after; a more likely conclusion would be that, regardless of my alignment, I thought Rubicon got dealt a pretty shitty hand this game and calling him dumb after he was lynched and gone was something that made me uncomfortable (which makes me a hypocritical asshole based on my behavior this game, but nonetheless!).

Typhon and Jan talked about how others scumread Typhon for being "overexplainy". The distinction that I specifically found suspicious was the distinction you drew between this game and Tinyhunt 7 (which was the most recent game you've played with Typhon, so was the game I assumed you were referencing) when in Tinyhunt 7 Typhon was still remarkably wordy and overexplainy, didn't think his posts were more accessible there than they were here.

    This explanation makes sense.

I thought that it was weird behavior from Vira. While I don't expect town to always necessarily have wonderfully worded cases that are perfectly on point, I found it odd that Vira's reasons for finding Typhon scum were inconsistent - how they were inconsistent I laid out specifically in that catchup post of mine.

There is a bit of confusion in the second part of this statement; I thought you were referring to Vira's election-vote, not someone else's, in which case the difference in opinion would be referring to Typhon and Vira's discussion on how to use a role, not the usefulness of it.

Aside from natural differences from being pressed (which he noted), was there anything specific that you saw?

I brought this up specifically because you said that you were a lategame player, and, if left alive long enough, you'd solve the game. As of right now, I don't think it's unfair to say that you've been letting others take the lead (probably due to exams) - I was wondering if there was a chance if you could give me a more complete picture of what your view of the gamestate looks like.

---------- Post automerged at 05:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:44 PM ----------

I can understand not liking Typhon's wordiness and being okay with Jan's because Jan's posting is more rambly/accessible in general.
