Raven said that if the petition passed he would consider over turning the previous decision. Whether that mean anything or not, I don't know.

I still haven't seen much to or for either argument so far, I also think that even if he put money into DLP it doesn't matter.

No I can't because Vash might be sad because we all abandoned him! We can't be mean like that if so many people don't agree on it, I don't know whether to listen to the administativators or the community because both are being so loud right now that we can hardly here but we need to resolve it or it'll get worse!!

 

Heres my two pence,

First off! Lets not get into a whole legal argument over this, its retarded, we're a small fanfiction board, so lets not get over our heads.

I personally think Vash has done a fine job and would like to see him reinstated, he kept people in line and I cannot think of a time I've thought 'He's abusing his power'.

But if Vash is done with it, I hope he stays and posts on the board, he provides many laughs......(and alot of smut)

Meh, its prolly a blessing that I was removed. Frees me of any responsibility and I had been considering leaving anyway, long before this happened.

One: Why would I want to buy what I was given freely when I joined?

Two: True, I did freely give money to Raven for the license for vB. A whole whooping $70. Nothing to get in a titfight over, certainly. I did it because, then, I did like the site. Lately, its been a chore to be here. Would i do it again anytime soon, demotion or not? No.

The site isnt worth it any longer. The founding principles have changed and while that isnt all bad, a lot of the members have changed as well or have simply vanished. Its less about the enjoyment and more about personal politics. Im not innocent of it, by any means, and never claimed other wise, but my stance has always been for the old DLP when we didnt take shit from idiot posters.

Now? Now we are supposed to show sensitivity and guide these poor misguided souls to enlightenment. Fuck that. Threat of demotion, continued demotion, or whatever, I am who I am, and I believe what I believe. Im not simply going to have a different attitude because Im not an admin anymore. Im still going to horribly bash idiots that need it. Ill still drag DLP's name through the dirt with my horrid attitude, if that's what Raven really thinks i was doing.

Whatever, Friday I'll know for sure what I am doing. Whether I stay or not, is yet to be seen. Those of you I communicate with regularly, I enjoy our time very dearly. But the site just doesnt have the same flair anymore.

 

While I'm not on nearly as much as other memeber i do find most of Vash's posts amusing. I dont really care if hes an admin or not, however if the demotion is the reason he leaves then i do believe that will suck. So i say give him another chance.

Agreed. Vash's posts and his IRC chats are quite amusing though potential for it being seen out of context is there. Vash's posts, for me anyway, are a great example of what is wrong with all this hype about political correctness. His posts are not politically correct, far from it in fact. But that's what makes Vash uh... Vash. He takes this common theme of the need to be politically correct and basically tells us where to shove it.

I really believe that those who disagree with Vash's words are either:
A) Taking it out of context and being offended
B) Advocate political correctness and mincing of words
C) Have a hidden agenda and want to make an example of vash

Of course this is also my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just feel that Vash deserves another chance and this hostile attitude toward Vash will eventually drive him to leave the site as a whole, a great loss to the DLP community.

 

Such are the consequences of growing older...and bigger. There's a quote that says something about a reacceding hairline and an exceeding beltline... Well, it seemed to fit at the time.

Vash if you're thinking about leaving, I beg you to reconsider. Even something as inane as insulting a newcomer for doing stupid things is what keeps this site from becoming watered-down, so to speak.

How can you complain about asslickers? It's you whoreshipers of Vash who are the biggest hypocrites of all. From what I could discern, Vash was considering leaving anyway. You don't give someone admin status just to keep them on-board. If they're considering leaving, then I suspect that they aren't involved enough to really be a good admin anyway.

I agree with you 100%. For someone who has given up free time to maintain a site, then get so casually dissmissed without even a warning is low.

As for this comment, as far as I can see Vash and Sera were demoted because some members threatened to leave. Now pardon me for being blunt but, isn't that a tad hypocritical.

I'd rather those few leave, than have the site threatened by blackmail.
Whatever results from this thread, I hope Sera and Vash will continue to be part of DLP.

I heartily agree. I have nothing against Vash, but the decision is entirely up to Raven and Zev, this thread completely undermines their authority - it's pointless.
