    Uh... wow, that default actually is horrible, Jon. I second Seratin's note above, most of us were probably joshing about the matter. I was fine with the previous DLP Green skin in the preview.

    Happy to see the move to Xenforo. Most other forums I'm on use it, and they are generally very good for quality of life.

    I actually really like vBulletin and this forum as is. I understand all the reasons for moving, and I'm sure it'll be better in the end, I just worry it won't feel like home.

    I'm generally grumpy when it comes to any changes, but as long as the familiar color scheme and functionality are preserved, I support the software move, for what my vote is worth.

    It is a concern, but at some point I have to make decisions based on software health too. It's not the new and the flashy (though, always nice), but the fact that our PHP version is pinned to an old version, that security updates will never be released. I simply don't have time to find and fix vB security bugs. It's a huge, sprawling codebase.

    Glad to see the move to Xenforo. A lot of other boards (AlternateHistory, SufficientVelocity, SpaceBattles) already did it, I think it's a good decision for DLP to do it as well.

    In progress. I'd posted a more aggressive timeline for rollout than I really ended having time for during my time off. It has been moving ahead slowly but I'd expect it to accelerate here soon.

    At this point I'll say, "when it's done."

    I've made a lot of progress importing things over, but I have a few modifications I need to make before the transition will be seamless (probably).

    Beyond that, work needs to be done on the initial theme. There's no such thing as importing our existing themes, so the ones we want to keep will have to be recreated.

    I'll post again when there's some more interesting work done.

    Yay! My phone and iPad are starting to shit the bed with vBulletin, so this is nice to see. Then again it could be that they're just shitty Apple products.

    We're planning on making the transition this weekend, barring any unforeseen circumstances. At this point it's time to just pull the trigger and clean up afterwards.

    Most things are importing correctly at this point. That said, not everything will be right from the get go. We'll find permission issues, missing functionality, etc. as we go. If there's any issues, we'll fix the data retroactively.

    We won't immediately:

    1) Have Social Groups. We'll refer to a read-only version of vBulletin until that's taken care of.

    2) Have a final skin. We'll have an initial skin and develop a new one as we go.

    I hear pitchfork tines being sharpened.

    Back to being serious, there were a lot of ideas thrown around a while back for greater functionality. Are you planning on a 1-for-1 replacement now and then innovation later, or should we be on the lookout for some new bells and whistles?
