And to build on this, the same is not true for Jan - while he might be saying something similar about Miner, that is a small fraction of his ISO compared to scumhunting.

Historically I've never really reacted well to pressure (vaimes might actually be able to back this up if he remembers the game we played together) and as far as miner and koalas goes I don't think it's been uneven, you seem to think I suggested koalas was a witch when that never happened. I just asked the questions I did so I could get some idea of where koalas was.

Newcomb - Fair, your stance RE; Fluff makes sense. The heart of my scum read there is that I feel like a lot of his early posts here feel calculated? to a degree and I find his reasoning behind his Jan vote suspect.

---------- Post automerged at 11:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:07 PM ----------

    Think I'm somewhere like this;

Town (S->W): Jarizok, Vira, Newcomb, Delphine, Atum, [Gap] Vaimes, [Gap], Waco, Fontisian
    Null: Cobalt, Koalas, KaiDASH
Scum (S->W): Miner, [Gap], Fluff, Owner, Rubicon, [Gap], Jan

Calculated I'll buy, a little maybe.

The reasoning on his Jan vote just feels like, "<groan>, classic Fluff" to me.

Like, the reasoning isn't good or anything, but I don't have any trouble believing that's a thought that could genuinely enter Fluff's mind there.

It's just, yeah, I legit don't know what to do with him. He loses Owner's market, rolls in here, as town, and just does the same thing? /That's/ the thing I have trouble with.

But as scum he never ever ever escapes the PoE doing this shit so

yeah fuck this this is why I try not to think about Fluff early

I never V read miner and I have zero clue where you got that from. I've just chosen to take a wait and see approach to someone who hasn't really gotten a chance to do anything yet (super unreasonable I know) and no I really don't think most of my ISO is about miner he only gets brought up because I've been talking to fonti a lot and that's literally all she's talked about so far. So honestly I think your perception of me is way off.

But owner don't you know how this game works? You have to shotgun shallow reads otherwise you'll never be village read.

But no, that's not all the options. There's a guy named Tzara on my home site PerC who would as scum suggest a great/optimal strategy as mafia that could actually benefit town. But town generally didn't go for it, and mafia ended up winning a lot of those games, when listening to that one mafia member's strategy could have really helped them. So you saying that those are the only options is very incorrect to me.

No, you are very wrong here. Take the persona of Captain Jack Sparrow for instance, it is a totally viable strategy if the person saying the strategy to begin with is known to be very clever, a good liar, or someone who isn't to be trusted.

It's not fake. It's very real scenario. I've seen it in action.

I keep typing my thought process throughout the lot of my posts, even the fluff posts, and you still got nothing.

The conclusion might be we think very differently from each other. But I still try to bridge that gap if I have to.

I'm frustrated because I'm being wolf read for things that never happened and because I like to take my time. Also you'll probably never get that "fable did a thing that couldn't be faked" feeling from me because my ranges are very close together. As for you your catch up posts seemed to bounce around a lot and that seemed kinda weird to me plus I'm wary of people who spend the entire game catching up because I see that as a wolf tactic but I've liked the posts you've made interacting in real time. slight V read on you I would say.

Yeah sorry about making you think about Fluff this early on Newcomb.

owner - I feel like you've lost what this conversation was even about, you thought Jan scum read me because he had a better strategy aka mine wasn't a good one so you now turning around and saying that there's another option being my strategy was a great one is...backtracking galore. As for the "Scum could get away with bringing up a strategy they know is bad for the town" that's just........there's several players inside the game that have experience with the setup and would make sure that nothing hugely damaging would occur. You're pretty much just focusing on a really weak silly point at the moment.

Lets try something though Owner, give me 5 names of people that you think are town with a line attached as to why you listed them, then give me a name of 3 people you think are mafia with the same line attached. I need stances and reasons from you, that's what I need. You give me that, you give me a chance to actually get a better read on you.

No one is scumreading you for this dude. You keep trying to swing the conversation back to this strawman like that's an issue anyone cares about.

I honestly feel like you're just trying to tilt me on purpose at this point. We can continue this conversation once you figure out why it actually is you're wolf reading me.

owner I'm in the middle of going through your ISO and am wondering why if you didn't want to give earlier because you wanted more interactions before giving anything definite why is it you decided to fluff post for quite a while after that?

Like we were fare enough into the game at that point and people honestly wanted to seek work from you but you kinda just don't do anything for a qquite a bit of time after your interaction with vira.

No, I Jan was scum reading you for something I couldn't make out about being wrong in your first post in regards to the strategy.

I questioned Jan, because I was wondering if he had a better idea than what you suggested.

No, what I'm arguing is there is another viewpoint that you weren't considering, which more closely supports why and how I interpreted your post as such.

I'm persnickety by nature and love devil's advocate. You expect me to not focus on such matters? Who do you think I am? Am I suppose to be a robot and just take the blue pill?

5 is a lot of names...you expect me to count that high... I mean uh

    Town
    Delphine - for meta
    Jan - for meta
    Vira - for vote

    Light Town
    Atum - for presence
    Rubicon - for post count

    Null
    colbalt - for 0 posts

    Scummy
    Jari - for vote
    Reg - for absolutes

I seem to have forgotten why I voted for Miner.

    Unvote Miner
    vote Jari

Also owner to answer your question to me on my position on sheeping I said earlier I pretty much never do it. As far as I can recall there is only one player I ever sheep and even then it's not very often so yeah not a thing I do.

Are you fully caught up, because the narrow comment seems borrowed from Regfan(?) from 100+ posts back.

And that sniper shot, sums up pretty well why I not pleased with you. If you think I'm scummy make an actual case

That said I agree Kai feels off. The first word that comes to mind when I've looked over Kai's posts as a whole is appeasing. Voluntarily giving reads. The in your face trolling and memes feel reduced in scope. I get the feeling Kai's trying to stay above PoE for the time being.

As someone whose given reasons for scum reading you beyond the Miner thing, dude, if you want the topic to move away from that, maybe try not swinging back to it? Make a case somewhere. Cause the more you stay in this defensive look, the more I think I've nailed D1 scum.

You literally refused to give reasons for your vote when asked so wtf are you talking about?

---------- Post automerged at 01:06 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:04 AM ----------

    Also

"I'm wolf reading you for your village read on miner"
"I'm not V reading miner I'm just taking a wait and see approach"
"Nobody is wolf reading you for that"

Like did I take crazy pills? Is it really unreasonable for me to be tilted here?

Asking him if he has a better idea about strategy is fine, thinking that his entire reason behind scum reading may be due to strategy is less natural, anyway like I've said this is a very weak point; there's reads I've gone into in a lot more depth that I'd rather you focus and comment on.

The other viewpoint doesn't mesh with your initial standpoint on the matter which is what this entire discussion was about. Yes, take the blue pill! But seriously; I'd much rather you comment / focus on areas that are more alignment indicative.

As for your reads so far; 1) Can you attempt to explain the Jan & Delphine meta differences in a little more detail for me, pretend I've never seen either play before. 2) Can you explain why Rubicon is town via "Post Count" rather than Fable when Fable has the higher post count? 3) Can you elaborate on your read on Jari outside of his vote on you and your read on me again outside of my read on you. There's been plenty of other content, what's your analysis on those?

Have any thoughts about my subsequent read wall. Or anyone elses?

    Perhaps one of your own?

---------- Post automerged at 01:10 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:07 AM ----------

My reasons were previously stated going back to our interactions, you can find them pretty easily in my ISO if you'd like. I'd been holding onto it to see how the fake rainbow worked out, but after that settled out and I came back, I made the vote as part of my actual reads post.
