I think it was a one-shot, where all of Harry's wands start dying after he touched the Elder Wand. I think he broke into Dumbledores tomb using a whole bunch of different wands.

 

I'm pretty sure Pers or maybe Nuhuh wrote that. Can't for the life of me remember the name.

Forgotten where to find a Harry Potter story in the style of Dresden Files. Harry was basically for hire for anything, from simple tasks like gnoming a garden to helping Narcissa investigate future daughter-in-law Astoria. He found out Astoria and her sister Daphne were running a private brothel or something. Wasn't that long a story. He hired Pansy Parkinson as an assistant purely for the shits and giggles. Anyone recall?

Dammit that was good story just to be abandoned.

Disobedience Writer also started a story about clueless about his future Harry, who just stumble from one mess to another, but it appears to be abandoned as well.

 

I once read a story about Hermione undergoing some disturbing rituals to become a Dark Lady, including romping with Lupin in werewolf form. If I have not mixed it up with another one, this story ends with a rather intense three-way duel in the DOM among Harry, Hermione, and Voldemort.

I have tried to search for it using different keyword combinations, but it eludes me. Rings a bell for anyone?

Two enjoyable fics featuring alternate worlds where a benevolent Tom Riddle becomes Hogwart's Headmaster are A Stranger In The Promised Land and Altered Destinies.

EDIT: oops, sorry, I overlooked the "one-shot" requirement. Both are multi-chapter fics and part of unfinished series. Well, I'll leave my answer anyway, maybe you'll like them.

I have been looking for a Snape fic recently. Its one where Minerva and Poppy help him leave Hogwarts after that 'famous' bullying scene when Albus seems to favor the Gryffindors. Snape decides that he doesn't want to fight anymore so he chooses to knuckle down and focus solely on his work to get a great Potions apprenticeship. There is no Lily/Snape so I am not talking about The Apprentice by Deborah. I can not for the life of me remember what this is called. I am pretty sure its abandoned with a decent length. One of the last scenes is Snape on a beach and he happens to see Voldemort attacking the Potters there. Anyone have any clues?
