Why is Ecstacy of Gold something everyone knows about? I'm missing some context to appreciate this episode.

But, might we be seeing Jack's future waifu?

 

Soooo fuck that was awesome, I mean putting Samurai Jack on Adult Swim might be the single best decision Cartoon Network has ever made. That last episode, reanimating the flashbacks was a damn solid plan, the music worked and that final scene in the graveyard was just amazing. When Jack said it was time to find his sword I had this instant "Shits about to get real bitch!!!!!" reaction. I just loved it.

 

Seriously though that last episode was trippy. I keep on feeling like some parts are just wasting precious time, so I was mostly impatient throughout the episode. Ashi was a beast though tearing through that marching army like so much dust in the breeze.

 

Farewell Samurai Wick. You were so bawse.

I love everything about the new series. Each ep is a goddamn work of art. Dat snow fight.

Lol. The ending song was perfection.

Also... that moment when you realize a cartoon is the best show on television.

Not really happy with the last episode but whatever, tonight's should make up for it.

Well boys, that's all she wrote. What a long ride, from the old Toonami and Cartoon Network days into now. It was worth it.

Ashi breaks free, teams up with Jack, and figures out she can use all of Aku's powers. Go watch the episode to find out what that means.

 

Kind of a weak ending, but you sort of knew it was going to be rushed. Definitely enjoyed the ride a lot more than the actual destination.

 

I'm honestly incredibly disappointed. I think episode 1 and 2 set my expectations way too high, they were perfect and then it just slowly declined into mediocrity.

Glad Samurai Jack got an ending though.

 

It certainly was a rushed ending but holy shit am I glad that this series as a whole existed. There's been so many clever artistic choices. Really glad it came back.
