Basically just showing infinite trailers is my ideal conference. Nothing really stands out yet but there's a lot of variety, I'll give them that.

Now we have a bit more known from Anthem. Looks pretty cool.

 

I found the fake co-op voice chat they tried to do real hilarious. Reminded me of when they did it for The Division.

 

The problem, atleast that I think of, is that most of it is not XBone/XBX exclusive but for Windows 10 aswell. A lot of people who can afford the 499 pricetag can also afford a decent PC, let stand a PS4/Pro.
I was impressed with the conference but it felt more like; 'hey xbox still exists and we have good games too!' instead of PS's constant bombardment of good to excellent exclusives last year.

 

sooo Xbox one X... I was interested to see that they didn't say 360 games would be compatible... just current xbox one games and accesories. Was this a clever omit or did they simply word it poorly (aka 360 games will work)?

Maybe it was just my PC.... but AC Origins cutscenes look like a graphics downgrade from syndicate tbh. Heh.... that guy said xbone. I like the eagleview thing. CQ combat looks the same. Bow physics are absolute shit; that arrow fucking changed course.

Anthem looks better than Destiny in every way bar the one that matters most: combat. I wonder if the customisation and rpg stuff will make up for that.

I didn't really get excited about any of the games though. Crackdown came close, until I realised FMV Terry Crews isn't the whole game...

Cuphead and Ori are they only exclusive games I'll get... On PC.

(I should add I'm really excited about AC, but yeah, third party)

 

They added OG xbox on backwards compat. They're not removing the 360 ones that are playable.

 

I think you confused the hardware announcement for software. Xbox One peripherals will work with the Xbox One X but I don't think the 360 and earlier stuff will. As for the games all of the games in the backwards compatibility program will work on the Xbox One X from what I gather.

 

This Microsoft's PC conference was pretty nice.

Assassins Creed: Origins looks like it may be one of those good parts of the cycle.
Shadow of War seems to finally make followers useful.
Code Vein is a weaboo slasher and I like weaboo slashers.
Speaking of slashers that darkness/light one which name I forgot looks interesting too.
Will Awaken make me install Origin? Maybe, maybe not. Fights don't look exciting so far.
I've wanted to play Crackdown, so I it's good to have at least third one on PC.
Metro may be interesting, depending on how dynamic will this enemy behaviour actually be.

So, for me, it was mostly new details on games I was already interested in. There wasn't anything spectacular, but a lot of decent stuff. So, not bad.

 

Bethesda is at 5am here but I will persevere in the fruitless hope that they show even a hint of the existence of ES6. Pls Bethesda it's been 6 years.

But they could actually show that rumoured new IP.

 

I think the only thing Bethesda could show that would blow me away is a new ES game that runs well with not fugly characters.

 

Alright, just got home from work where I watched the Microsoft conference so I may have missed a few things, but here are my thoughts and feelings so far.

• Xbox One X is a stupid name. They should have kept Scorpio.
• The Hardware for X looks incredible - native 4k in pretty amazing considering I game in 4k, though I know I'm in the minority here.
• Curious to see what Playstation will bring to the table since they really don't have an answer to the One X yet. Reveal during Sony conference? We'll see.
• Price seems fairly reasonable considering. I probably won't get one because I have a beast of a PC and there are like NO exclusives to give me a reason to buy. Still, impressive all around. I'm disappointed that the console isn't modular.
• Idgaf about Forza or racing games in general, but damn that looks good in 4k.
• Metro looks amazing. Can't wait. I loved the last two Metro games. Oh boy.
• I've lost a lot of interest in Assassin's Creed, but it still doesn't look bad. Seems less sneaky and more Witcher to me though.
• I'll play PUBG on PC, thanks. Plus I'm guessing a launch exclusive is basically timed, so eventually PUBG will be on PS4 as well I guess.
• I don't care much for State of Decay 2. Honestly didn't get to see much of what was shown, however.
• Not gonna talk about the smaller games, I don't remember what most of them were called.
• Oh god, Minecraft again. My minecraft days are over, but it's still nice to see it get a 4k update and some actual decent shaders. Still won't play it though.
• That DBZ shit was neat, didn't catch much of what it was about though.
• Yeah, the Last Night was pretty neat looking. Reminded me of one of those games that's gonna be on the Switch at some point.
• Yeah I still don't really know what Sea of Thieves really is. Is it story driven at all? No clue really. Didn't care for what I saw.
• I don't know what the fuck Cuphead is, but no thank you.
• Crackdown 3... cool I guess? Didn't play the previous games, but If this is the exclusive that's supposed to give me a real good reason to buy the X... it isn't working.
• Ashen looks neat. Got a Souls game feel from it if I'm remembering which one Ashen was.
• Shadow of Mordor looks great. Probably not something I'll get on launch, though.
• ORI ORI ORI ORI ORI It's time to rip my hair out again.
• More backwards compatability. Woo. Still doesn't have all the games I want, but still pretty fucking awesome.
• Multiple games getting 4k updates for free... I like the idea of that, but does this mean that future games will charge for a 4k update?
• Anthem. Looks incredible. A Bioware press release stated this today: “We’re pushing Frostbite to new heights, developing a game unlike anything EA has ever made before. We’re telling a new story, creating a social, co-operative experience, and putting it in a contiguous open world that is dynamic and will be ever-changing for years to come."
That's some pretty big fucking news. It basically confirms that this is their version of Destiny/The Division with social coop experiences, and the fact that the entire world is connected makes me really excited. This is definitely the big one for me besides Destiny 2, unless Bethesda's new rumored IP blows me out of the water. Also, the flying. AND THE UNDERWATER. YASSSSS.

So yeah. The microsoft conference was fun to watch, and I'm SOOO hyped right now. Probably not gonna get X since nearly all of the Xbox games shown are coming to PC.

From Bethesda I'm expecting a new IP, possibly set in a sci fi 'verse. MAYBE a new Elder Scrolls, and probably some info on ESO. Also Quake.

 

The fake comm thing they had going was certainly way too close to the devision for comfort.

 

Tbf, diving/flying into combat areas like they showed is pretty fucking badass. As is customising your own mech (read: gundam) with missiles.

 

Yeah... the fake coop performance stuff is annoying, but somebody does it every year. I've gotten used to it.

 

I'm wondering how much you can actually control though. Or whether that will all come out on the release version.

 

They said that they wanted to make it more witchery a while back.
