Dude, that's Gillian Anderson, you know, the TV god of media. She also was I Love Lucy and Marilyn Monroe.

I think the episode addressed it, gods can't be killed they can only be forgotten.
Killing Wednesday there won't achieve their desired goal.
Mr World goal is to incorporate the old gods into the new Gods

Fantastic episode. Basically everything about it was spot on, and it's good to see some clarification about the overall plot for those who haven't read the book.

That's just Media. I did love the Bowie references weaved throughout.

Interesting. That's the first episode where everything was fresh content, and it still worked very well. Kudos to them on that, and for making the secondary road trip of Mad Sweeney, Laura and Salim-not-Salim so invigorating.

Also, I'd be interested in seeing what the US reaction is to the episode, given it's...not entirely positive representation of guns.

It was such a good episode. It's been a while since I've enjoyed watching something this much.

I thought it was jarring this time around, in contrast to Browning's background episode. Maybe it was because the last two weeks have been strong plot-movers.

I'll have to rewatch this episode on its own merits.

Still can't stand Laura, but Mad Sweeney more than makes up for it.

Was be screaming in Irish (or whatever that language is called) at the end?

I'm really curious about what he said. Anyone knows gaelic enough to translate it?

Quite a curious episode, that. Very well told and acted, but not 100% sure we needed a whole hour of it - but if they had squeezed it into another episode, it wouldn't have been anywhere near as affecting. I think it's one that'll grow on me.

Binged on this in two days. Very well made - the visuals are top-notch, the actors are competent and the plot is proceeding to my liking.

This is one of few times I've watched something after reading the book and actually enjoyed myself tremendously. Rare feat, that.

Also lepre-cunt is my new favorite word.

This was what I was waiting for all season, McShane killed it. Can't wait to see the repercussions in season 2.

So ... does anyone actually give a shit about Laura?

Obviously I've never read the books, so I'm not sure what her role is there, but she's not meant to be sympathetic in any way, is she? I mean, she was created as a character specifically for the opposite, wasn't she?

Edit: And of course, finally the reveal. Much expected, sort of delivered. No complaints. We need to see more of Mr World. A lot more.

The most I like about this show it is quirky without being tacky. Like that faceless mooks at the back moving weirdly and multiplying. You would think it would be funny but it actually managed to be threatening.

It's been a while since I've read them, but my main memory of her is randomly appearing to get Shadow out of scrapes by viciously killing everyone in sight. She's had way, way more development in the show than in the book. And no, I don't think she is supposed to be entirely sympathetic, but perhaps unsympathetic in an understandable way? And growing a bit as a person, the longer she's dead.

So, the finale was pretty spectacular, and recaptured some of the spark that the last couple of episodes have lacked, good though they were. In a way, I think the show blew its load a little early, with some gloriously OTT, extravagant and weird episodes before tailing off into set up. Spreading it out a little might have worked a bit better (Preacher had the same problem last year). And if I didn't already know that series 2 had been commissioned, I'd be sitting here now going "Really, that's it?".

Still, even in its weaker moments, it's a great show, and easily the most distinctive thing around at the moment.

Though I know that it isn't the point I still can't help but wonder as to the scale of power these god's have. Or indeed any of these supernatural creatures.
