How are they obnoxious traitors? I mean, granted, the show's portrayal of them was rancid but I don't see what makes them particularly treasonous. Always seemed more sympathetic than most, they had good reason to be pissed off.
I agree with every bit of criticism but I still followed it because it was somewhat entertaining but the latest chapter is where I checked out. For reasons I don't know, a lot of people in those threads really hate the Martell's and I don't really understand why but they are almost always the fall-guys in the SI stories.
So far, I'm really liking this. The first two chapters were amazing and while the later chapters lost momentum a bit, I did quite like the portrayal of every canon character so far and I am curious to see where this all goes. [SPOILER] So, 4/5 for now, definitely following this.
Jarik's loli fetish aside, anyone know any good Persona or SMT stories? Crossover or otherwise?
Always the problem with stuff like that. There are only so many people who even know these games exist, SMT is very much a niche, only so many of those who play them, only so many of those who finish them and only so many of those who would write fanfiction about them. And only so many of those who are good at it.
Child of Heaven by jacques0 Rated: Fiction T - English - Fantasy/Adventure - Chapters: 119 - Words: 337,547 - Reviews: 1,234 - Favs: 694 - Follows: 719 - Updated: Jun 19 - Published: May 2, 2013 - id: 9254114 It is riddled with grammar and typo mistakes, especially the failure of the author to distinguish between "owe" and "own" and similar stuff is annoying. The writing itself is a bit clumsy, and the main character is quite overpowered but at the same time, her power is also...
Read that one, while it was entertaining at the beginning, it became less so as it went on and I dropped it. 2-3/5 sound about right, although I am not sure the rating applies when one drops it. If you want something in that vain, I think Milo and the Natural 20 is a superior story making fun of the DnD tropes. It is genuinely laugh out loud funny. At least for me, it was.
Whelp, now I love Superboy with mentor Black Canary stories.
A Knight's Tale was cheesily awesome from start to finish but I think Westeros already has that story. It's the Hedge Knight, is it not? At least the part of someone pretending to be a knight.
Am on somewhat of a RWBY binge, so, will post a longer update in a week or two in the RWBY thread. That said, have finished Soulbound and it was quite excellent. Loved it. Probably the best fic of its kind, with soulbounds and whatnot. What puts this apart is that it isn't "One True Love" or "Soul-Mates" or anything like that, but rather, it is more comparable to being "Drift Compatible" from Pacific Rim. It's a process that is possible with more than a few people and one is not limited or...
Best Detective Conan story that I have found was this The Mystery of Conan Edogawa by funvince Basically, Ran is determined to find out if Conan is really Shinichi as she had suspected numerous times throughout the series but this time goes at it like a detective, collecting clues and proof and all. It makes so without demonizing anyone and exploring the feelings of all people in this mess, making them think why the other person would do such a thing. Ran centric story and really fits...
Kakashi's time travel shenanigans are hilarious, loved that one.
That Girl From Whirlpool is still the best story about Minato and Kushina that I have read, and I'll be honest, it's pretty much canon to me. Kushina as the main char would be interesting as well, to see what she could do with her chains and all. Really, as good as Minato was, Kushina wasn't that far behind, especially if she harnesses her junchirukii powers, which I believe she hasn't really done IIRC. I would actually love a story with a surviving Minato and a Konoha that gets dragged...
It is amusing but I can't help but want a serious story with Minato and Kushina as main characters, without Naruto, be it as a child or time traveler bogging them down. TGFWP hasn't been updated for too long.
Actually, Ichigo feeling forced to infiltrate Aizen's organization by fulfilling Aizen's orders while trying to cling to his morals and to try to save his friends would have been more to my liking but basically wishing for a completely different story seems silly. @Invictus: Victory at Ostagar is excellent, one of the best pieces of fanfiction I have ever read. Long and complete. We even have a thread here
I understand why he is so much better than everyone and it does make sense but it leaves me bored when his biggest obstacle is basically the douchiness of the jerk characters. I mean, Ichigo is just better than everyone and I mean that in every way. He is a better person, he is a better teacher, he is a better comrade, he is a better leader, he is a better friend, he is a better student, he is a be fighter, he is a better everything he does and everyone is just amazed at this. He is not a...
I actually have a different problem with Swinging Pendulum. I mean, yeah, the everyone is suspicious of Aizen thing and the council being evil are problems, clichéd ones at that, but I was personally more bored/disturbed by the blatant Ichigo wank, with him being so much better at every, single thing than anyone else and that everyone who is not in his fanclub is a raging and incompetent tool. I get it, SS is corrupt, but come one. By now, there are practically two kinds of people, people...
Well, I should post a list of the DC stories that I happen to like: Bear in mind, while a few do fit the criteria of almost good, quite a few of them are actually rather good, but it seems silly to make two lists for different threads, so, I'll lump all of them here, if that is no problem. Batgirl: A Quiet Halloween by Duo Himura Charming one shot, rather enjoyable. Good read with ca. 13 000 words. Complete, due to being a one shot. 4/5 Broken Bones by Thomas the Betrayer...
Yeah, replying now.
I am aware that I have an unusual opinion on Wonder Woman and I am able to stomach the romances with Batman. For example, I really liked Escape Artistry. Would still appreciate if you'd shoot me some reccs. While it may not be exactly what I am looking for, maybe there is still some good stuff worth reading there.
Admittedly, I know nothing really about 52, at least I think I don't. DC has so many reboots and different universes, I am unable to tell them apart.
Wrote you a review on fanfiction.net. Are there any good Wonder Woman centric stories out there? It always puzzled me as to why the canon writers bothered to make WW an immortal character who is only in her early twenties, making the immortal aspect rather irrelevant. Wouldn't it be more interesting if WW had lived since the times of the Achilles and such and brought her experiences and worldviews of that time with her? It always seemed lazy to make WW have ideals so close to that of...
Are there many DC/PJO shippers?
Just read your story Rymrock, and I have to say, like what I have seen so far. Spoilers for those who have not yet read it. [SPOILER] You do write well though, and I felt the tone was mostly consistent, so, I have high hopes for this. Am invested so far and am looking forward for more. Especially her eventual application of her powers, wonder to which heights she might take them. Thank you for sharing this.
Truth to be told, all the good Percy Jackson stories I've found where the crossover written by Ryuugi Shi, most of them you can find in either the Dresden or Misc Work by Author subforums. There are a few one-shots by other people, but if you didn't like the books all that much I doubt those will do you much good, seeing that the good ones are more feel-y about Percy, Annabeth and the like. The rest are rather crappy "X reads Percy Jackson and the Olympians" of which there seem to be an...
I actually like Miss Martian a lot more in the second season. About time someone did a few more extreme things with their power and I kinda hoped we would see a descend into villainy from that. Also liked Superboy a lot more in the second season as well, since he stopped being a whiny angry-fuck and actually grew as a character. But yeah, bullshit on the forgiving thing.
Wasn't Superman solely at fault for that? I mean, I can't blame her for that decision.
The formatting of Pharos is incredibly annoying, simply because I still haven't fully understood how to read stories on that site, whether those short snippets are the full chapter or if I have to click on somewhere to get more, but what I did read, the first snippets until 77, was actually rather good. I quite liked the dynamic that a female Lex brought into this, and how she raised her son. Thing is, the story still seems to follow the villain and hero structure and while I can't exactly...
Stitches by Farmer Kyle is a crossover between Bleach and Fate Stay Night. Basically, it plays after Ichigo lost his powers, goes to Fuyuki City and becomes Master of Assassin (Apocrypha Assassin) in the 5th Holy Grail War. Only 3 chapters so far, which is the reason why I am posting it in this thread. Not even 20 000 words yet, so, too short to recc properly but what there is, is pretty solid. Especially the writing and tone in chapter 3 becomes superb, capturing the tone and feel of the...
