No, I’m not. Look at the review count. Authors who recommend their own stories usually do it due to a lack of reviews. This was a story I read about two years ago, when I was still rather new to the world of fanfiction, and I recall it being decent. I have not controlled whether it is, or not. I simply tried to help the OP find what he or she was looking for.

Today if you search by the number of words on ff.net then the longest of those are the reading fics... and I don't know why!

 

I should write one, just for a laugh - the reader being strung up in the Great Hall, and the words being carved onto their body by nightmarish spirits would work - Clive Barker's Book of Blood style.

(Snape being given the scalpel treatment by James or Lily would be a fun read!)

To differentiate it from a 'regurgitating the books'/'imitation/lazy time-travel' sort of thing, the fic' itself would tell two linked stories - one the history of the A/U, which explains the back-story of the current situation (in a drastic A/U of the books), and the second being the altered/new relationships between the characters themselves in the 'present day', and their reactions as events/secrets are revealed by the possessed/tortured speaker.

It'd explore the personalities of characters both known and unknown, and given them a more-than one dimensional perspective.

Plus, it'd be a great exercise for me to hone advanced/lengthy character interaction, something I'm currently quite terrible at.
