    Summary:
    If the horcrux hunt began in 1979, right after Regulus Black discovered Voldemort’s secret, how challenging would’ve it been? Without some of the critical information Harry Potter and his friends possessed by their 7th year, how likely would’ve it been to succeed? No time-travel, no unprecedented luck, just the resources available in the late-70s/early-80s.

    Not in the Order of the Phoenix, but certainly not Death Eaters, Sirius and Isabella Black (nee. Rosier) found themselves straddling the ever-growing divide between the Light and Dark families. When Sirius’ brother comes to him with information that could potentially change the course of the war, the couple’s thrown into action while forced to reckon with the fact that neither side entirely trusts them.



    I have not posted on this forum in many years, but I feel that this story is very good and deserves a bigger readership. It has also sufficiently dark characters to appeal to this community, and I am sure that many DLP members will enjoy it.



    There is a finished prequel to this story that introduces the character of Sirius' wife, Isabella Rosier, and shows the changes that occur in Sirius' life due to meeting her.



    I understand that not everybody likes the idea of reading about an OC who is one of the main characters, but I find her, just like every other character, to be very well written.

    Both of them are, officially, neutral—neither part of the Order, with whom they have ideological disagreements, nor are they just against some of Voldemort's politics. They are also too proud to serve such a man.

    The author has put a lot of thought into the politics of this story, with both sides of the war vying for their loyalty—using friendly words at first, but, as the story goes on, with increasing pressure. Aside from Sirius and Isabella, James and Lily Potter are the most important characters in this story.

    55 of 64 chapters have been written, and I am very eager to learn how it ends.
