Now, now, it's not stated that they are related, it's just that Naruto is the newest incarnation of the Will of Fire.

Stop freaking out guys, we don't know anything yet.

I agree with Aekiel in that it seems to me that Madara was just simply implying that Naruto is similar in character to Hashirama, "the will of fire".

Isn't the Raikiri/Chidori able to cut lightning?

Yeah. I'd say plot armor is going to protect Sasuke.

Also, Madara has NOT outright stated that Naruto and the Senju are related.

Oh, god damn it, I forgot all about that. Now I can practically guarantee that I'm going to hate the next chapter (for reasons other than the usual "it's Naruto" reason, at least). Damn it.

I dont know if it's the style of the manga or something else, but i fail to understand how every character is so quick to believe what is more or less the leading antagonist's points of view? Sasuke believes him about Itachi, his motivations about why he killed the clan and the orders from the elders backing the act, and BAM! Mangekyo Sharingan awakens.

Naruto denies everything coming out of his mouth yet he's all but on his knee's in tears claiming its not possible. Yamato look's as if he believes the words from Madara as well. This is the same man that's suspected of not only controlling a Mizukage but manipulating Nagato as well, still they're so ready to listen and believe?

As to the recent chapter, money on Sasuke to win, as if there was ever any doubt. The fact that he still has yet to use the MS, eyes stronger then that of Itachi will of course make all the difference. Someone said it before about the four bladed pin-wheel on the Raikage's arm, yep certainly not suspicious at all.

    Meh.

Madara is acting the spin doctor once again, leaving out the bits and pieces that don't suit him. He's painting Sasuke as an irredeemable evil when we know, as readers, that he's still got some good in him (musings at Naruto Bridge/flashback to Team 7 during Killer Bee fight).

For some reason, Madara wants Naruto to beat the living shit out of Sasuke, most likely so that Sasuke comes running back to him for the power of Itachi's MS (EMS) or the Gedou Mazou.

Madara is playing up the rivalry in the past in order to convince Naruto that his and Sasuke's confrontation is inevitable. As always, Madara uses the truth to his advantage and embellishes the points that suit his agenda.

It's good writing on Kishimoto's part, but most followers of the manga are too short-sighted to recognize it as such. Reading from week to week often blinds you to the bigger picture and the subtleties of the characters - especially the villains.

    Basically this is the deal:

Madara is spinning the truth to suit his agenda. He's not doing show and tell for the betterment of his enemy. This is the same sort of "the writing is on the wall but isn't" storytelling that Kishimoto used when introducing Pain. 90% of idiots thought that character was deluded to the point that he actually believed he was a god. The same is true of this situation. Kishimoto is saying that Sasuke is the devil and Madara is a simple historian, but that's hardly the truth of the situation.

Keep an open mind while reading and you won't disappoint yourselves.

What is weird about that story is that besides the supposed blood relations, Sasuke has nothing in common with that older brother in the story. He does not have the eyes, does not care about peace, was not usurped as the favored student, etc.

However, if you put Jiraiya as the Sage and Nagato and Naruto as the older and younger brother, the parallels are exhaustive.

What we should be calling bullshit is the claim that the Senju and Uchiha are related to those two brothers.

It could be they are "brothers" as in brothers in arms or something, not literally two brothers.

    That's not Plot armor.

Plot armor is surviving a deadly explosion through genjutsu on a summon when you have no chakra left. This is something that's been in since the Chunin Exams I think.

Plot armor is referring to Sasuke's immunity to Lightning Chakra being revealed in the middle of his fight against the Raikage. The Raikage has just had most of his jutsus nullified and has to rely on physical strength. Sasuke, on the other hand, has a technique that pierces the Raikage's defense and can still shoot off a ton of crap.

Yo folks. Spoiler time. Not sure if confirmed, but it looks legit.

The chidori breaks the erodou( the belt that the raikage wears) and the rest of the chidori penetrates the belly of the raikage(it does not seem to be a deep cut)

Raikage: To wound me?! you have the same jutsu then Kakashi!!!
The raikage takes Sasuke and turns him over and says to him that this is the end, he will fall victim to the "raiga bomb!!"

Sasuke falls to the ground but seems like he was protected by susanoo's bones. (looks like Itashi gave him more then he expected)

Sasuke seems to think for the first time about his retreat...
    His eyes are in MS

There's a weird part where the raikage seems to be giving Sasuke some chakra so they can continue the fight?!?( not sure what this meant)

Karin: What is this chakra?! its the chakra of a Bijuu?!( again not sure about that comment)
    Scene changes to Naruto,

Madara: I wonder if you are gonna try to change Sasuke's mind like you did for Nagato...
Kakashi: Why did you capture all those bijuu's? and what is the link in between the bijuu's and the curse of hatred of the uchiha?!
Madara: I just want them all in the end, that's it!
Madara" It was fun talking to all of you, now if you would excuse me...
Madara vanishes from the scene with the help of his time space jutsu.

The scene cuts to Sasuke again
Sasuke uses amaterasu and thanks to the jutsu, he his able to get out of the Raikages assaults.
    the fight continues
Darui: The raikage is using is left arm!!
the raikage is about to end the fight, sasuke is down for the count and the chapter ends with the raikage in the air and preparing his finishing move

Read the new chapter, fuck yeah Raikage is awesome. He's beating the shit out of the Sharingan with his FEESTS and ELBOWS. 'course, Kishi's a huge Sasuke fanboy, so Sasuke's definitely won, and will probably copy the Raikages move. That is, if he can remember Sharingan was originally a copying technique, not instadeath h4x.

You know, the more I see the Raikage and Naruto the more I realize that those two are in the wrong genre. I honestly believe that those two, and maybe the Raikage's brother, should be piloting Super Robots instead of being ninja.

'Tailed beast level chakra'....nice. And this guy ain't no jinchuuriki. It puts into perspective just how much chakra people like Naruto must have.

Scene of day-------------------> Raikage piledrives Sasuke. Win.

Only thing I've never really got is why impossibly fast ninja like the Raikage never just kill their opponents quickly. Sure Susanoo saved Sasuke's spine but he was still more or less exposed and coulda got fucked 8 ways till Sunday before he could even blink. Than again, that would hardly be suspensful.
    Decent chapter iin any case.

You're thinking too logically. Raikage could've killed Sasuke from the very beginning with a burst tactic (throw everything at him in a split second), there's no way he could have adapted fast enough.

But that approach doesn't keep younger readers interested nor does it aid Sasuke's image as "greatest ninja ever" (which is what everyone's reactions are in this chapter). I mean really, is anyone else pissed that ninja like Kakashi or Itachi are made into chumps (look at the pitiful fight scene in Konoha – Kakashi basically gives up and is "dead" for a dozen chapters)? Of course we are, but the general reader base is probably pleased.

But for me, Orochimaru must have had a hyperbolic time chamber. It's the only explanation that makes this tolerable.

Is it just me or did the Raikage go SS 2? Because his hair started to spike up when he dodged the cursed flames.

    Meh.

    It's just the chakra.

The same thing happened to Nagato (on a greater level, perhaps) when he rage!stared at Hanzou.

All I can say is that, regardless of the outcome (I don't think that Raikage is losing here), Sasuke isn't going to have the juice to kill Danzou with.

He's already used the MS's ultimate technique, and that's supposed to drain the user's life force. Itachi died from this technique.

It seems like Kishi's still going with the you can outrun the Sharingan's vision BS.
