I just hope one of these kages figured out a way to break the Nidaime Hokage's broken-as-shit jutsu.

 

What's the point in bringing back all the dead hosts? Without their beasts wont they be less useful? or are they just to take up space.

Or maybe they have other skills and I just don't remember, but I think its been stated that most of the host's rely heavily on their beasts to help them fight.

 

Kushina and Bee didn't seem so reliant on their bijuu.

Also, it's perfectly reasonable to assume that they retained some of the powers their bijuu granted them - just look at Naruto's healing in the Chuunin Exam round 3 prelims and Gaara.

 

The only thought I had after reading the chapter was 'Thank Fuck he didn't revive Minato'. Jiraiya would have been bad, but beatable, but Minato has curbstomped Madara, the Kyuubi and the entire village of Iwa. With undead regeneration (if you'll recall Sarutobi having to use the Dead Demon Seal to get rid of zombie!Hokages because they kept reforming chopped off limbs), he'd be unstoppable. Fuck, I'd bet he could take on one of those divisions by himself.

Still, one of the ongoing themes of the series has been that each generation has been outdoing the last, so I think we're going to see some pretty cool fights showcasing the next gen's skills as better than their predecessors'... Until the regeneration kicks in and they all start getting owned.

The only good way this ends is with Naruto killing a Hanzo ripped from Howdy's story. After Haku curbstomps Sasuke of course.

 

Only because he wouldnt be able to use Sage Mode, and even without sage mode Jiraiya is incredible.

And Gaara has turned into Naruto, able to settle differences between mortal enemies with a few words and the promise to have a go at him at a later date. There goes my second favorite character.

 

No, he's not quite up to Naruto's level of "one punch = ten years of therapy" yet.

Speech aside, Anko vs Kabuto should be interesting, but the chapter kind of felt a bit filler-ish; start that big epic final battle already.

 

Damn you Kishimoto. First Konan, now Anko (because we all know how it will end). Who will be the next female character I like that he will kill? Shizune (probably by Dan's hand)?

 

I find this all depressingly likely, but will continue to cling to the vain hope that Kishimoto will come up with a way to handle the fight that will not completely suck and reek of implied sexism.

 

Bitch all you want, but you all know you'll watch this thing till the very end. You may not like it, but you will.

I see it clearly now. At least one of the resurrected will break free from the control from fighting his loved ones and maybe kill himself or fight others.

Edit:Not sure about the Gaara-speech thing. It wasn't good by any means, but it wasn't terrible either. It was just ... weird.

 

On a related note, I have to say that it would be hilariously epic if Anko managed to kill Kabuto, and all the Zombies turned against Akatsuki.

 

Minato Namikaze would come back to life, break the Edo Tensei's control, and rape everything in his path. Minato didn't use the flying thunder god, he was a flying thunder god.

 

There's just no way that Gaara's little speech should have done what it did. No way a few words can make long-time enemies with a bitter past of blood and violence go all 'LET ME SUCK YOUR DICK, GAARA-SAMA' like it just happened in the manga. Ugh, horrible.

While I was reading the chapter the first thing that I thought of was Itachi breaking free. If there's a character that can do it it's him.

 

Itachi or Nagato. I would prefer Itachi because Itachi didnt deserve to die from a stupid disease. Itachi needs to break free, smack Madara and Kabuto around, beat some sense into Sasuke and Naruto, and above all else prove that he was a major badass.
