    When I started reading fanfic, the serious Sirius joke got a small smile.

    As I saw it repeated again and again, I began to hate it, even leave fics because of its inclusion.

    Now I'm back to smiling when I see it. My irritability has been exhausted and it has the comfort of familiarity. I suspect it's a form of Stockholm Syndrome.

    I always thought the joke was invented by fans. The fact that it is prevalent in bad fanfics only reinforced that belief. I was surprised to find that JKR actually made the joke in one of the books. So it's not just an asinine joke made up by some pre-teen that got dragged across the internet. It's actually canon.
