Given the obsessive amount of Pokemon I played as a kid I'm surprised I never saw one then. Seen two in the past two years though, a shiny Mankey on Route 22 FR and a shiny Boldore in Black. Both on Nuzlocks oddly enough.

 

Funny story atually. My first shiny was a Golbat in Pokemon Sapphire. Thing is, I didn't know what a shiny was so I'm like "this is odd, is this a legendary Golbat?" and proceed to kill it by status effects (accidentally poisoned it). I shrug, move on and a few steps later encounter another shiny Golbat, I catch this one and later learn what a shiny is and how lucky I was. That is my only encounter with a shiny in all my years of Pokemans.

 

I just realised that I probably still play the games partly in the hopes that I may catch a shiny someday. D:

 

I still suspect all of you guys are liars and in a conspiracy together to make people believe that there's such a thing as shinies. I still haven't found a single one, you fuckers.

 

Snagged a shiny Floatzel and Machoke in Diamond. The only legit shinies I've ever seen besides a buddy's Crobat.

 

I saw a shiny Sentret in the grass just outside New Bark in Silver.

Before I'd taken the egg to Mr. Pokemon.

I found several shinies in Gold and Silver, and I don't remember any of them except for a Golbat.

Post Gen 2, I've only found two shinies in all my many, many hours of play: a Vulpix )) in the Pokemon Mansion in LeafGreen and a Wingull mad on Route 219 in Platinum. Caught 'em both, using my Master Ball on the Vulpix because I was afraid it had Roar (it didn't). Put both of them in my box as trophies.

 

If you don't count chaining via pokeradar, I've only ever found shiny Ditto in the wild.

Also, I assume we're not counting event shinies like shiny Suicune?

Edit: I actually still have that shiny Ditto, same game that I got pokerus on as well.

 

I just caught a shiny Gastly. My new year's resolution is already complete.

Oh, I remember one more. I think it was archived in my Emerald Nuzlocke, but here it is.

I found a Shiny Ralts. But it wasn't for me, oh no. It was the one that pussy Wally catches. Yes, the game gave Wally a Shiny. I think I reset because fuck that injustice.

EDIT: Nope, wasn't in the Nuzlocke game. But it did happen.

Don't do that, red Gyardos is nothing special, and a Magikarp can sweep a whole team of legendaries!

 

My first was a golden poochyena in Ruby at the very start of the game. I say first. I mean only. I saw a pinkish meowth and a greenish onix but I killed both of them by accident. :/

 

You could have had a shiny luxury cat and a shiny steel snake. Daaaaamn.

 

I have had pretty poor luck with shiny Pokemon. Never encountered any back in the gameboy days, but in Black I've encountered, and caught, a shiny Lillipup and Patrat, as well as a shiny Ratatta and Ponyta in Soul Silver. Oh, and a Zubat in Platinum.

Five isn't bad, since some people have none, sure, but four are trash Pokemon, and Ponyta looks infinitely better with blue fire than Rapidash does with grey smoke looking shit.

 

Agreed. I was when I saw what mine evolved into. Blue Ponyta looked cooler than Corpsedash.

 

Was playing Black 2 earlier and I stumbled upon a Shiny Riolu - I didn't even know they were in the game.Wound up running out of pokeballs seeing as I could barely afford anything at that point in the game. Went back and caught a regular one, but it just isn't the same...

 

Yesterday morning I found a shiny Patrat and killed it in one hit. I've been sulking like a menopausal divorcee ever since.

 

Yeah, but the only thing worse than not being able to catch a shiny is catching a trash shiny. It's like, you catch the patrat and then are like, "Alright, now what the hell do I do with this useless thing? Not only does it suck, but it's a level 8 and I'm about to challenge the Elite Four!"
