The whole thing about Lump is that it comes with a Priest check. Which is all well and fine, if Waco's a Witch and wants to get himself lynched.

I can't tell if you're scumreading him for wanting to be checked (?) or for the Lump campaign making up the majority of his content.

I actually liked that bit from Waco. I don't think it was him joking so much as him having complete confidence his contributions we're self-evidently solid. Bravado, not mockery.

Regarding the rest, ok? None of those actually tell me where you are on their alignments, with the /possible/ exception of the Jari bit (assuming your read there is null).

I’m scum reading him because his Lump campaign isn’t real. It’s never been real, and I think if he suddenly became a real contender for the lump he would be both surprised and screwed.

But he basically hasn’t done much else anyway. Like his Iso just doesn’t feel real, and yet people like you have given him a bit of a pass, “Waco wants the lump, he’s townie for that” despite the fact that that’s exactly what his goal was.

I think a couple people, Jari and Waco among them, might live longer than tom as confirmed town. But yeah, ultimately if we lump town we're outing a public priest check (assuming the lump isn't the priest, which is even worse) and giving them an additional ability. Everytime I've been scum in that situation, I've killed the lump long before their extra vote could matter.

Even if it was bravado, why would that be town bravado?

They’re kind of all varying degrees of null, that’s why I’ve not talked about them. I’m not to that point where I need to sort my null reads, it’s still early and I’m still sorting my stronger reads.

Fair enough. So sell me on lumping/not lynching Waco. What do you see from him that makes him town?

Firstly, I don't see your point about my play in endgames being relevant, because I can't see witches letting a town!firmed double voter live to see a final 5.

Secondly, I gave you a list of games where I made correct reads in the middle or end game to help town win...

Yeah I said D2 or 3 but Hannibal I entered D3 and endgamed, and Mountainous I was mislynched D4, but correctly pointed out the final scum before I died. Naruto I was the priest and was shot N3 after a great D2 wall

Are you asking me why genuine confidence that people will see his content as towny is towny? It's, uh, kind of self-evident.

Talk about your stronger reads, then. You've got a scum read on Waco and the obvious town read on Von. Anything else (with reasons, please)?

Re Waco: Just that and thing I said about the case on you really. Waco tends to tunnel a fair bit as town and can lack awareness of other people not being in the same spot he is, if that makes sense. I think his response to you where he was like "I'm laughing so hard rn" was kind of over the top bravado and /might/ have been faked, but I can also see him doing that as town. It's the kind of thing where I would really like some input from Newcomb and Jan.

I had a random thought just now about Mal then ends with a lynchvote.

I am not sure on the whole thing and want to wait for Thug to return and do things before I talk about it.

But something is odd about thug and if that doesn't change then it will end in a push by me.

Just remind me of this in a day or two if I don't say it myself.

I mean, I guess. Just me personally but I’m pretty confident that my content will be read as townie regardless of my alignment (if not moreso as scum because I can tailor it better)
Sure, so I’ve got a decent town read on Delphine, I liked her early talk of proper Lump use (194) and generally feel like I can understand her headspace. Notably, I don’t think she’s scum/scum with Newcomb.

Newcomb I’m very skeptic of, his use of the copy paste again, while he’s justified that, still pings me as something he could very much make use of as scum, and he’s had several moments where I don’t see the point in his posts, but I think lynching him day one would be a mistake regardless of how I feel about him.

Cobalt is town or I’m pocketed. I’ve talked about this already, but his thoughts are basically my own.

I like Tom, but unfortunately that probably doesn’t mean much for his alignment. I’m hoping we just lump him, but if not, I’m going to proceed with the idea that he’s town but always have doubt in the back of my head.
So how strong would you rate that read on him then?

Remove the whole copy-paste thing from your mind. (I am fairly certain it is not alignment indicative)
    What is your read now?
What are the points you are not seeing? Or the posts that lack the point for you or whatever.
    --- Post automerged ---
This is the time you talked about this already :

Not that much in depth. Why is he your spirit animal?
Is there any context to that thought?

Furthermore, I dislike you using the word "pocketed".
It is a way to make you sounds more towny that was not needed in your evaluation of cobalt.

If he had been pandering to you or whiteknighting you, then the phrasing would be fine to use, but he didn't say a word to/about you.

I think I only made a list of the people I read town at the time, which had a cut off after half the playerlist.

The problem with lists is that you would not fit on any, because your spot is always just close to my heart. (honestly I have vague ideas on others but am still uncertain about you).
Let's pick the playerlist and order them, just for you!

    Vaimes

    Cobalt

    Waco Kid
    dichotomousCreator
    Tom

    Delphine

    Newcomb

    Fontisian
    Gemma
    Jarizok
    Mallorean Thug
    ShadowlancerX

I have trouble ordering the last 5 people.

Mal hasn't posted since sunday. I am waiting for the catchup post and something specific in it before I want to judge him.

Gemma is not judgeable by me right now. Too much not alignment indicative feels bad stuff that is clouding any opinion I could have.

Fonti hasn't done anything scummy, but that doesn't make her town *shrug*

You got the spot in the middle, because that is as close to my heart as anyone will get.

I think/hope the top 5 don't have any scum in them. Tom is the one I am least sure about because fuck reading tom.
He feels good and if he is scum then he is at least townsiding.

Newcomb .. actually made comments that were slightly pockety in my direction if he is scum.
I didn't dislike his catchup and I think the pressure he is getting for the copy/paste is odd and I am giving him townpoints for that alone.

I look forward to more Mal related content, both by Mal and the rest of the thread, but apparently in that order.

What are you townreading DC for? Maybe I just missed it.

He feels true. The unafraid read from early still stands.

I .. don't have the highest praise from what I have seen of his scumgame and he is completely fine fighting people here in ways that I feel scum!dC would be more reluctant to do.
There is a small chance of playstyle changes on his part making it harder to judge all that, but overall town for me.

Some good performances lately will have given him the confidence to fight most anyone here as either alignment I think.

The same is true for defending/lump campaigning me.

There’s significant enough differences in TH vs more regular mafia games and this playerlist vs the last two though that could also account for him feeling different to me.

DC was town core building and town leading a bunch in those other games, but this one doesnt lend itself to the town leading playstyle due to too many personalities and he’s looking for a place to vote a lot more than he’s looking for town it feels like.

Actually, phrasing it like that makes it a lot clearer to myself why he’s felt scummie to me. Town!DC looks for town. This DC has spent a lot of time doing /things/.

@dichotomousCreator Feel free to call me out if my assessment of you is unfair/wrong. I’d kinda prefer that anyway.

I will applaud you for making me doubt myself, because that read feels spot on.

I would expect Town!dC to look more for towns overall and try to clear half the game via PoE.
Maybe not to that extreme, but at least as a general progression.

Jari was really lightfooted while I was asleep. Probably not hugely indicative, but it's a welcome change.

Gemma is, uh, my preferred lump if not me tbh...

Shadow I might have a spicy townread on but it's too early for it.

Cobalt's reads are, super high difficulty. Almost like designed to be the hard way. Not sure I can reconcile that with MU scumcobalt but the game here when he was scum with fonti is way better than that guy.

I already found enough of the town, it's font/Jan/Jari/mal/Newcomb/tom/Vaimes. I expect this plus me to be enough to endgame.

More seriously, I'm focusing on finding somewhere to vote because that's what I'm finding difficult this game. I'm finding townreads fucking easy (probably TOO easy) so I'm just shitting them out and moving on. It doesn't help that pretty much all the townreads have not that many posts to ISO and are only saying one or two things when I check in again, so like I can't even hard reevaluate on those.

I'll see about examining Cobalt now that he's got a decent thread presence.

@shadowlancerx I don't have a favoured alignment, I find each interesting for different qualitative reasons. I can say I would have been annoyed to roll scum this game b/c I'm not really on top of it.

(post cut short due to leaving for work)
    --- Post automerged ---
Anyway I never actually though of myself as the sort of player who goes the PoE route, but now that you mention it I guess it's true? Like, I find people to vote based on who's "not town" rather than who's scum.

That said, you can recontextualize "having trouble finding somewhere to vote" as "having trouble not putting literally everyone in your townbloc" which is more what's been going on with me so far.
    --- Post automerged ---
Huh, actually, @Jarizok --- How would you describe my Portal 2 D1?
