    I'm rereading the series for the first time in ages. I hadn't realized how long it's been since I read the books and I had honestly forgotten how charming and funny the first few books are. Fanon had focused on such specific scenes when they rehash the books that I had forgotten about things like:

    Huh. Reading this brought back memories of reading it way back when. I remember imagining an electronic fan, for some reason, even though that doesn't make any sense.

    This might be fanon, but given the number of detentions he and Sirius served, I'm not sure he was ever able to "weave his way out of trouble" as you put it.

    That's a false assumption regardless. You can't point at detentions served as evidence that he never avoided any.

    It took me a second to decide whether or not to be aroused, before I realized it was Hedwig giving him the love nibbles. Then I knew for sure.
