Don't feel like you have to respond to everything either, Dels. If I really want to keep talking about something, I'll ping you about it.

Okay. Thanks for the clarification on your day 1 Cobalt read. Yes, to me it came across like you were saying the hype-y entrance was NAI, and I didn't recall you saying that his reads post sucked in that way, I felt it was all just "lurking meta" and "NAI" and therefore didn't justify a scumread over a null read.

To the rest of that response: Acknowledged. Nothing I feel I need to reply to further.

I'll just add that Cobalt never really had to change his reads, because they were always a winning poe for him, and he was always in a position where he needed a town to be misyeeted so he wouldn't be.

Actually maybe that's not true? Like the Day Vaimes was yeeted, I'm pretty sure Cobalt was like "yeah, Waco, Dels and fonti are all town, it's got to be this." And Yesterday he was like "yeah, Dels and fonti are town, (though I could be wrong on fonti) it must be this." Which could completely come from town and wasn't too far off from what I was feeling, but you and I were putting in work to back up those feelings and considering other worlds, and Cobalt just kind of rolled with it and tried to push us forward on the yeets. So we're back to the argument of strong player versus weak player, but I feel like even a weak player has some like pushing outside of the set poe we were going for, because they have independent thoughts.

Oh, there was actually one. I was thinking about it overnight but then forgot.

Cobalt yesterday (or the day before?) did say "I'm not going to tinfoil Fonti" when you started coming up again, but then later in the day he said that, like, in this final 3 (I think?) that he'd have to go back to his paranoia on you after all.

I'll find the details later maybe, kind of exhausted now.

I think I'm remembering it wrong so do not quote me on the above. It happened, but my details are off.

My memory is that he said he wasn't going to tinfoil me when no one seemed interested in yeeting me, and tinfoiled me once when people were talking about yeeting me. Could be wrong there.

Final 3 is stupid. If you're a wolf you're just being like "Oh, yeah, Cobalt totally did do the thing you say scum would do, good point!" I don't know how to have conversations on a day where it's only 1 other townie, especially when the other person isn't even here. But I don't ever talk to people like they are wolves anyway, so talking to you as if you're town is the only thing worth doing here. I'm not sure I've ever been in a final 3, it feels silly.

Anyway I'mma take a break for a bit because clearly I need to.

Okay yeah, I actually can't spend my whole day playing mafia. It may be quarantine but if I dedicate the rest of the day to this game and put off the work I need to do for tomorrow (or thursday) I'm just gonna be stressed af. I was hoping we could settle this today because the last thing I wanted to do was sleep on it again, but if we can't, we can't. I'll be back later to respond to day 2 if Fonti has posted it, and to do the various other things I said I wanted to look at, plus hopefully some Cobalt by then.

(I'm worried above post sounded hostile - It was not meant to. I was not saying you were expecting me to spend my whole day on mafia. I felt I was spending more time than I wanted on it, on my own, because this is final 3 and I know it deserves my time, but I've gotta stay self-disciplined)

You're fine, Dels. Day 2 is going to take fucking hours to do anyway, so go do other things while I get this done.

Okay, so here's what a lot of this phase is going to look like for me:

I'm following my own earlygame instincts as well as Vaimes' gut and I firmly believe that Fontisian is the last wolf here. That being said, she's played an excellent game, and is already playing an excellent F3, so I don't know how difficult this is going to be.

My struggle is that I lose the game to a wolf Dels here and I don't know how I feel about that. I feel like I have to keep my options open even though I strongly believe that Dels is just town and we need to just yeet Fonti for the victory, it wouldn't be the first time that I've been snowed by one of my strongest townreads.

So I'm being careful and I probably won't vote until close to deadline tomorrow.

That being said, I'll probably be on the defense for most of this phase, since Fonti is carefully crafting a very strong case against me, regardless of her alignment, and on the chance that she's town I need to do my best to refute that for the sake of the team.

    @Dels

Relax. Don't stress yourself out, Lord knows I'm doing much of the same, but we are only ever going to win this with fresh eyes and the right motivation behind us. Take the time that you need and try to put the game out of your head while you get stuff done.

The biggest thing that I feel I have to defend myself against is the implication that I simply molded to whatever Amy wanted this game.

I'm not a wolf that tends to follow orders, if I were a wolf this game there would be plenty for me to strategize on with Amy and Cuth. That being said, I was getting relatively more heat than Amy. I know Tom and Font wanted to yeet her, but in a team where I've already gotten serious heat, ESPECIALLY after pushing away from the Cuth flip onto Jarizok, I'm the prime candidate for the JOAT counterclaim. Amy would do a better job of endgaming after that, especially given the general state of the game.

Clearly, Font was in pretty deep with Reg and Gemma, and that made Amy the better candidate. The thing is, if half the heat on Amy was coming from Font, she was never in any real danger, because nobody was really listening to Tom at the time. I think the wolf team carefully evaluated the state of the game, the posture and positioning of both Amy and Fonti, and decided that Amy would be better to take the CC.

That, and this is Fonti's home turf, she knows what she's doing in this playerbase, and I've seen it before with her as a wolf where she's able to entrench herself like this and not get any real heat.

The only person pushing her was Vaimes, who objectively played a really weak game, but a lot of his base instinctive reads were correct. He was right about Tom/Amy. He was wrong about me, but if his lynch pool was Cobalt/Fonti then he was right about Dels as well if Dels is a villager. I feel like I owe it to Vaimes here to follow up on that, ESPECIALLY because there are very few people here that I trust to correctly read Fonti, and Vaimes is one of them.
