Binged the first 12 episodes of Orb: On the Movement of the Earth.

Absolute banger of a series so far, character writing is top notch and as an astronomy nerd I can tell how much the author has put into researching the development of the heliocentric theory. There are a few historical inaccuracies, anachronisms, and general artistic freedom worked in but nothing that detracts from the show.

    Music is also top notch.

    Well worth a watch.

Went on a recent anime/manga binge. Mostly based on this thread.

My Dressup Darling 5/10. I liked the beginning; it had some enjoyable and unique moments.

The girl being the one in love, the love Hotel scene, some dressup scenes. it was funny. But as the series got popular I think the author moved away from Ecchi and got more and more into cosplay. I didnt care at all about the side caracters. But i liked the ending

Blue Box 8/10. Finished Anime and up to date with Manga. It's good, realistic, a lot of struggle for the main characters, and the romance is nicely done.

I was rooting for Hina, and the latest manga chapter, it's getting kinda sad for her.

Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia 9/10. Pretty good romance. I didn't watch the anime, just binged the manga.

I went deep on the rabbit hole on the ending, as people on Reddit and online were speculating that she was dead in the epilogue, but the author confirmed that it's not the case

Horimiya 10/10. I rewatched the anime and read the manga a while back. still my favorite. Still the best romance anime, maybe only second to Kaguya-sama.

Currently reading Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku (I dont get it why people rate it so high, seems super lame 17 chapters in)

Finished Orb. Probably anime of the decade for me, to be quite honest. It's so rare that a work hits on every single character, but this one has an amazing cast throughout every arc.

Highly highly recommend anyone to check it out, even if you don't typically watch anime.

Now you have me curious. Gonna try it next.

I've just finished the anime Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu (Dangers in my Heart) and reached the current chapter of the manga. Got to say, this just became my favorite romance manga / anime finally toping Kaguya-sama.

I am going to give it a 10/10.

    Next up: Orb

I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire has no business being as good as it is.
This is not anime of the year or even anime of the season, but it is easily some of the most fun i've had with an anime in several years.

First, this anime is dumb. You know it, I know it, it knows it. Our protagonist got cucked to death, and is transmigrated to a new world by an interdimensional being who thrives off of misery and despair, to put him in a seemingly perfect world only to have everything fall apart on him, thus savoring massive levels of despair.
Except that the protagonist is kind of an idiot and wants to be an evil overlord without knowing what that means, thus slipping through the traps laid for him by doing something only someone stupid or who doesn't understand would do, and getting away with it.
The worldbuilding for this is disgustingly fantastic. I want to read something by this mangaka where he is taking it seriously. Our protagonist is a petty baron of a whole backwater planet, where the galactic empire is unimaginably vast. They fight with mechs and swords and magic, they have warp travel and also warp gates. The economy and military industrial complex is thorough and well thought out. There is absolutely no reason for this.

This is an anime to watch if you run out of things to watch and want something where everyone seems to be having fun. (Except Christiana. She is having the exact opposite of fun. There are some sick fucks in this show).

If and when you finish, I'll pose a question that I haven't been able to answer for all this time.

    Who was your favorite character?

Feels like pretty average gooner slop to me and I've watched 5 of 12 eps. Same setup, same tropes, and same lewd jokes as every other B-tier seasonal isekai. Honestly a miracle I got past the "mecha mimics the 10-year-old's desire to fondle tig biddies" bit.

Is there some quality uptick in the latter half? Otherwise, I have absolutely zero desire to keep going.

I'd say drop it. It's no modern marvel. If it's not clicking for you it won't in a few more episodes.
