    Now that I've seen the trailer, I think I would have preferred a fresh story in the universe.

    A rise of Voldemort or Marauders era series.

    But I'm still excited and I'm gonna watch it.

    In my heart, I enjoy the delusion that mira mirth is writing the HBO series haha

    I watched the trailer and I am so totally stoked about this series. I must have watched it 10 times now to break down every detail. I can't help but feel that this will be the highlight of the year.

    I guess I'm just not excited about it. The originals were good enough and I don't see that this is any better. It's just the same thing again. A marauders era series would have been better.

    If this is at all successful, I think HBO absolutely will expand the Harry Potter Cinematic Universe. The blueprint exists in GOT, HOTD, and AKOTSK. Remaking the original books as a series allows them to capture a new audience and establish an authoritative version of the IP in live action that can be the canon for any future shows or movies to be consistent with.

    I won't be surprised if the 5 season is a pilot for a spinoff. They will already have all necessary actors and they may want to make it in between seasons like they do with GoT.
