They annoy me for many a reason, but the biggest one is that they can say whatever they want (true or not) but you can't respond without doing so in an AN.

If you go that route, it becomes a completely public thing and also it basically promotes the reviewers opinions.

Well, you can always just delete them and look like a person who only wants praise and can't take any criticism, but that's no good either.

Turn them off. If someone wants to flame you, make them go to the effort of signing in, and if someone wants tow rite you a review, if it's a review worth reading, they'll take the time to sign in, so nothing is really lost.

In all seriousness, I know they can be turned off, but unfortunately without that veil of anonymity most of my reviews will degrade to: "Good job! So original!"

Most people are too much of a pussy to give a legitimate review if their name will be attached, and I want the legitimate reviews.

If they're such pussies that they can't give you an honest review with their name attached, their review would probably suck anyway.

Personally I wouldn't turn off anonymous reviews.

Even if you don't like some of them, there are good ones. You can also write a note in your story saying that you respond to reviews and if the person wants a response, he should log in to review.

 

That really is the only solution.

I leave them on, and just reply rationally to most unsigns that anger me. Anything that's just a pure flame I'll delete. Some guy who thinks he's being smart, I'll correct politely in A/N to make him look in the wrong. Just don't get angry. I do get a couple of well thought out reviews that aren't signed and have in the past, which is why I leave them on.

I'd rather a flame be anonymous where I publicly prove him wrong than signed, where I'd only do it privately. But that's just me.
