http://www.salon.com/entertainment/..._world_of_quidditch_harry_potter_fans_collide. XFL-style hits, broken noses, concussions.

(Salon.com link, so you probably have to click through some shit to get there).

The only way I'd watch this as a sport, is if they were literally full out brawling and smashing each other with brooms.

    No protective gear allowed.

I'd rather watch lacrosse without padding.

Were I still in college, I would probably give this a shot.

I have actually seriously discussed starting a society for this with a friend, but the Union won't go for it, so we never got beyond discussing it.

That!...is gorram awesome. Seriously. Sadly, I've never even heard of it before, so there probably isn't a local team :( .

Because really, who doesn't secretly want to run around in front of a huge crowd with a long thick shaft sticking out from between your legs alongside a group of other like minded people?

I remember when the first one started. I thought for sure it would die out after a year at most.

I think I will send this to my University's Harry Potter Alliance Chapter (because apparently there is such a thing.)

They're doing it wrong. It should be the Order of the Phoenix Chapter.
