    Dude. Even that isn't too hard.

    The negative is away from Earth. Zero is when it's no longer going up or down. The positive is when it's coming back to Earth.

    That is fundamentally wrong. While you can say that the negative and positive sign show that the velocity and acceleration are in opposite and same direction respectively, at the top most point acceleration is not zero. Actually representing g as negative and positive (while not entirely wrong) is not a good practice, you should chose one direction to be positive and work with that. Because the magnitude and direction of g remains same throughout the motion.

    EDIT: Neither is the velocity zero at the top-most point.

    And that's why I got a C for physics. Terms always wrong. Math worked. Failed 30% of class relying on correct definitions and explanations.

    EDIT: It took me like, a minute after reading your "It's wrong" and doing some other shit to remember 9.8 m/s is gravity....
