They did, I can confirm that much. It was mostly a travel demo/trailer.

two posts in a row but who cares.

    Trailer with English voice actors.

As with the japanese version, Noctis' gang has pretty generic voice actors. Tough guy has a typical tough guy voice, jokey guy has a jokey voice, and posh guy was given a posh accent.

The only one who doesn't fit the original mold is Noctis. English voice is surprisingly deep and gravelly for a FF main char. Kinda sounds like Steve Blum.

He's a prolific English voice actor with a very recognizable timbre.

Zabuza in the Naruto dub, among many other roles.

I never, ever watch dubs. I just hope they leave in j audio (doubt it). FF philosophical psychowankery never sounds good in English...

It might come packaged as unlockable end game content. If not that, then it'll probably be available as a DLC, as they were in Lightning Returns.

It's weird. I can't play a game unless it's dubbed, but I don't like dubbed anime at all. Bebop and Black Lagoon are pretty much the only exceptions I can think of where the dub is legitimately better than the original.

Or... it could just be an alternate audio track available from the get-go.

Hardly unheard of. Especially with some of the more recent games.

"Insomnia?" I wonder if we'll also visit Narcolepsy, or Sleep Apnea.

But no, it looks good. Also I'm not hearing Steve Blum, but I'm glad for the deeper voice.

The timing of the dubbing is a bit dodgy but I imagine that'll be improved in the final version.

Loved the look of the town environments. It looks almost like a fantasy GTA.

Do you think the giant stone man was a summon?

Well it does look like Titan which is a recurring earth summon, much like Leviathan who we've also seen. So it's possible.

It feels like a super suped-up, Square Enix version of Tales franchise. Combat-wise, I guess they finally are going for the Cross Double Raid Linear Motion Battle System. Or I think it's like that based on the trailers. Which would be friggin awesome... Seriously, with that graphics and Tales combat, I'd buy PS4 just for this game.

I don't really see where you're getting a Tales comparison from. I mean yeah, you have cmpanions with their own moves... but Tales combat is all about nailing positional combos and fluid skill chaining. This game seems more free-form and reactionary to me.

You haven't seen the new combat system for the latest Tales game? It's kinda like this but of course, more focused into positional combos and fluid skill chaining as you said but it is very similar to the combat system for FXV. Now, I'm just assuming since I don't really know how the combat system works yet so I'm just basing it of the trailer vids. Also, it's not just the companion "with their own moves" per se. It is more on the adoption of the free movement motion battle system I'm referring too. Neither FXIII nor FXII had a "true motion battle system" after all.

That said, it's eerily familiar to the link system Xillia had esp. during their combo artes, skills, magic whatever, with that other dude. Not that I'm complaining, I've always loved the Tales franchise because of their combat system esp. Graces F.

Lolwot? I must have misread, I could have sworn you said 'new combat system' in the latest Tales game? (Xilia?)

I'm not a huge fan of the franchise, but I've played Destiny, Symphonia, Abyss and Xillia. While they've generally added a few QoL changes over the years, and streamlined other systems, each game feels like riding a bike.

Either way, finally saw the dub trailer. Agree with Taure it looks dodgy. It also looks like the actors have no idea what the models are doing in game, it kind of comes off wrong because of it.

Performance capture makes a huge difference. Something I doubt we'll ever see in a foreign game.

Yeah, There's a new one called Tales of Zestria coming out 2015. And it's not so much as new but more or less a little different than you're usual "MC-A meets Enemy A and gets teleported to a combat arena" type of combat system. This new one remains and uses the same environment you clashed with the enemy.

I don't mind FF-series but I really just like Tales franchise because of its unique approach to JRPGs graphic-wise and gameplay-wise. I feel that every other JRPGs out there basically use the same graphics and character model pallet for their faces, character devs. Admittedly, it IS anime-ish but that's just their preferred graphics. The DUB is terrible on the trailer too. They need a better one. This has always been my beef with FF-series. Terrible dubbing.

    -----------------------

Now, I just hope this new FXV won't be the crapstorm that FXIII was coz looking back at the trailers for that game, and their combat trailers, it was exciting.. not so much after playing the game for hours.
