Since Gravity Falls got a thread, I guess I’ll recommend the other cartoon I’m eagerly watching.

The show is about the misadventures of a boy named Steven, the youngest of a team of magical guardians of humanity: the Crystal Gems. Steven may not be as powerful as the other Crystal Gems. Or as savvy. And he doesn't have much control over his powers, which originate from the gem in his bellybutton inherited from his late mother. But that doesn't stop him from joining Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl on their magical adventures and somehow finding a way to save the day!

Steven Universe aims at a slightly younger age group than Gravity Falls, but SU is easily the most emotionally healthy show I’ve ever watched. It can be comedic and sad, but it’s usually heartwarming and emotional in a way a lot of shows aren’t. The characters are all three-dimensional, and while the show is generally from Steven’s childish perspective, there’s many mature and adult situations going on in the background.

The setting and animation are dreamlike and gorgeous. The only thing that tops that is the music which is very catchy; sometimes the characters break into song and they’re always great. Episodes are generally eleven minutes long, and right now there are 51 episodes in total with one being released every week.

Warning: In the first ten episodes or so, Steven is annoying and can get on people’s nerves. Watch the first two episodes, and if you can’t stand Steven, skip to episode 7, Bubble Buddies, then go from there. He gets better, I promise.

Steven Universe is back with a new episode!

    Just DAMN.

    1. NEW THEME SONG.
    2. EVERYTHING ELSE. Connie's badass, and Steven's character development has come so far. I don't think I've ever been as on board on a canon ship than I have this one.

So my best friend made me sit down and watch this show with her and I'm official addicted. I obviously haven't been giving CN enough credit. Steven and Connie are teeth rotting adorable and Lapis needs to make a bitchin come back.

If anyone hasn't seen it yet, the extended version of the SU theme song (with animation) was shown at SDCC. This one seems to be the cleanest version. The audience can be a bit annoying because they drown out the lyrics in some parts, but I'd probably be screaming too.

    YELLOW DIAMOND!
Also, a week of new episodes start tomorrow! I'm so hyped.

Okay, "Catch and Release" is my favorite episode by far. Just oh my god.

"Peridot now lives in Steven's bathroom" is an ending no episode can top.

    Also, TINY PERIDOT!

I spent the summer binge-watching the show, at the recommendation of a friend. At this point, I'm seriously debating whether or not Avatar the Last Airbender is still my favourite TV show, or if Steven Universe managed to usurp it.

Steven is such a great character, Steven/Connie is one of the best Ships I've ever seen (it's the anti-Bella/Edward), all the Gems are awesome in their own way, the music and songs are amazing, we get two ridiculously bold and well-developed lesbian Ships in the form of Pearl/Rose and [Redacted for the those who haven't seen the Show yet], the emotional moments are really emotional, the fight scenes are all pretty damn good, and so on and so forth.

Any guesses on when Yellow Diamond will finally show up?

No idea! Maybe after this new threat is dealt with. I hope its soon though because I'm already expecting awesomeness from her.

    So theories on
    A. Why Yellow Diamond isnt responding and B. Just what the hell the cluster is?

Ive got nothing substantial for A and for B my current guess is that Homeworld was running far worse experiments with gem fusions than the mutants in the Kindergarten. The fused body parts were step one and step two is going to be when we see whats left of the gems minds.

Does anyone else think the casual way Peridot talked about Steven being a hybrid means there are more Gem/Non-Gem births then we were lead to believe?

I've only seen a couple scattered episodes, but Do It For Her is something I've watched a dozen times. Loyalty is the chiefest of virtues so Connie and Pearl make me smile.
