    I have been remembering a good fanfiction that I read a while ago that involved Harry being imprisioned in the Black House but the snakes in the walls could speak parseltounge and made passages to let him explore. This might have involved another dimension but im not sure.

    I seem to recall the one you're talking about, or something like it. I think it also had a custom made wand, an uber!animagus form, and I think Harry faked his own death by having a bus run over a transfigured rock made to look like him.

    Harry Potter and the Black Heir? The Black Mage?

    Something to do with Black. All I really remember is that it was god-awful.

    I can think of one that's sort of similar to what you describe (and not the one Samuel Black is mentioning). There are aspects of your description that match Dream Red's In The Company of Secrets. It's not the Black mansion where Harry is trapped, but rather Slytherin's private chambers in Hogwarts.
