Looking for a pirate!Harry story, just because I've never read one before (excluding Browncoat, Green Eyes...)

Only requirement is no slash, and has to be written decently.

 

There are plenty of butt pirate Harry stories out there if you're that interested....but that's slash of course. I have been reading HP fic for a long time and I can't say I have ever read a pirate Harry story. In Ectomancer, there are pirates and Harry is on a pirate ship. That's as close as I have seen.

I found Drink up me Harties by Tinn Tam to be well written, if abandoned just when things got really interesting.

There's The Star Empire but it takes place in a world where Harry's been frozen a thousand years into the future and is the only one that is still with magic(so far).

Other than that, Joe's wastelands Harry has a hat.

 

I was face palming myself as I wrote that so I am glad you were too as you read it.

 

Like many other possibly interesting plot premises, these types of stories are -as someone else has already mentioned- always written as Harry being Draco's bitch.

These sort of stories also reside with their respective authors in the "Kill it with fire" pile.

 

Rocking the Boat, I remember writing about it in the almost recommended thread when it had only a few chapters, last year. Haven't checked the fanfic since, though.

Wastelands of Time, Harry is a pirate (among other things :awesome)

And Tinn's fic which was already mentioned.

 

Literally minutes ago I clicked the big red X on Rocking the Boat, then came over here. Really didn't appeal to me and, aside from the title, I fail to see how it could be classed as Pirate!Harry. He doesn't even have an awesome had, or an epic eye patch, or a legendary parrot. Heck, at the bit I was on, he did not have a boat in his posession.

In case you didn't notice, I was not inspired by this fic.

On the Pirate!Harry front, I can provide no further recommendations upon those already given. Drink Up Me Hearties is the only dedicated Pirate Potter story I have read so far, and was promising until Tinn stopped updating.

 

Just finished reading this, and I liked it. I think Harry and Hermione were poorly characterized though, while the other OC's were done well. I'm not even sure what Hermione's purpose in this story is, other than being dead weight. Not sure if the Horcrux thing really makes any sense either.

That being said, I found this piece of dialogue awesome.

 

You shouldn't have read it. The author is more likely to marry mknote before finishing this fic.

 

Blaise, I'll get the wedding rings and vegas priest if you get the dress for mknote.

 

If you had read Rocking The Boat further you would have noticed it's competing with the worst Harmony cheesy tripe out there. Old horny man writer syndrome. Mind bleaching crappy.

Tin Tinn's fic is great.

It's a one piece/ Harry potter crossover that is still being updated regularly. I myself enjoy it a lot, and the writing is good.
