Another year has come and gone and it's time for our annual bloodsport Not-So-Secret Santa.

HISTORY
​

For those who are new to DLP, I'll give you a basic history. 'DLP Secret Santa' was originally conceived in 2011. It came to be after a certain, magnificent Admin (then Moderator) decided to give away some games to the members of DLP as a festive gesture. Other members, deciding to be similarly generous decided to throw their own games into the pile and it soon grew to the point where there was an excess of games and not enough people to receive them.

The doors were opened and every member of DLP was invited to take part to receive a game. There was no requirement beyond being a member of DLP and posting asking to receive a game.

A combined 47 members of DLP donated an impressive 144 games ranging from Magicka, Terraria and Limbo to newly released games like Skyrim and Saints Row: The Third.

All in all it was a successful event that was intended to be a one off occurrence.

Except, it wasn't.

During the following year 2012 members in preparation for the next secret Santa began to purchase games in secret, hording them over the course of the year from steam sales, humble bundles and various other sources.

It wasn't long before members began to ask when Secret Santa would be announced, and when it finally was, they came in force.

In the 2012 Secret Santa more a little under 300 games were put forth for the event. It was a resounding success, in no small part due to Midknight, who voluntarily took over the administration side that year.

Since then, every year has come and gone, and at the end of them a Secret Santa is held.

It is only due to the generosity of Dark Lord Potter's member base that we are able to hold this event. You do not have to provide a game to receive one.

Every one who puts their hand up for a game, gets one.

In past years I got games through Secret Santa without contributing much. This year I collected a few good games to try and make up for it, along with a host of not-as-good games that people might still be interested in.

I realize that some of these games, like BEEP, are unlikely to be on anyone's list of games they want. But I listed them just in case.

Games I want:
Some of the games on my wishlist are there because my regular gaming group is considering buying them for co-op. I'd be happy to have any of them, of course, but I don't usually play co-op games solo.

I also love RPGs and don't have many listed. I'd appreciate any solid RPG that I don't already have, regardless of whether it's turn-based, action-adventure, or first-person shooter. I'm also super stoked for Undertale, but I expect it'll go on sale soon enough and I can pick it up then.

I'm also 100% earnest when I say that I don't need to get anything at all. I've got plenty of games, and DLP gave me some great games through this when I was broke. I'm happy sitting out a year and contributing only.
