    Summary: Harry won the war. It's a couple months afterwards, and unexpectedly, he's quite literally picked up off the face of the world and shoved into another. One where Harry Potter died a long time ago and the Potter family's still fighting a war with a Dark Lord whose ruling over the world one muggle murder at a time. They say he's their only hope. Harry just really doesn't want in.

    Shortly after the fall of Voldemort Harry is summoned into another universe, etc, ... though here Harry is dead and his parents, some siblings, as well as loads of other people of his home universe are alive. It's astonishing that they are, as this universe is way worse of than canon.

    Harry doesn't want to help them, but he soon learns he would only be able to return back home once Voldemort is dead. And, once the action starts, Harry of course jumps right in.


    I rate this one slightly better than 'Rent a Hero', but it has some problems on its own. Harry has a brother who at once gets attached to him, he bonds with a new familiar and acts like a superhero. Harry is seriously complaining to Order members about this heronapping, but these scenes are somehow off and look forced, just to insert something resembling character development. Of course the moment something happens Harry doesn't hesitate for long. And once the first action sequence is over, he doesn't really question his new destiny any longer.

    The situation of this world is worse than canon, as Voldemort never lost his body. He infiltrated the Ministry years or decades ago, and only Hogwarts and Hogsmeade are still free of his influence. The war spilled over into the Muggle world, where witch hunters started to attack wizards. They aren't a real issue (yet), perhaps they are only a vehicle to transport a certain character. The setting has its inconsistencies (see: Number of Order members alive, half of the Order still working for the Ministry, ...)

    The writing is ok, but feels a bit forced at times. The story isn't actually a super!Harry, but the author tries too hard to top other fanfics of the genre. The interaction with other people is mostly focussed on the Potter family, but that's to be expected considering the title. Thus the rest of the Order members are rather flat characters, including Dumbledore. A voting that takes place in the latest chapter looks so random that it might be the result of a dice roll.

    I am hesitating to hand out 4 stars for this. Though if the author improves a bit and manages to finish the story with a decent ending, I might hand out another point.

    I read this a while ago and it was ok enough for me to continue until the end. It's nothing special, I'd give it like a 2.5/5 rounded up.

    From what I remember not enough happens and it's all kind of bland to read, you have to sort of force yourself to keep going until the next good part.

    I've read this once before, when it had less chapters, wasn't a fan of it.

    Now that I've reread the stuff, still not a fan.

    I think what annoys me particularly about this is the occasional "Fuck you, I wanna get home!" from Harry in one moment and then in the next "Oh gosh, that's my not-mum, she's so pretty!"

    I'm gonna give it a 2/5 because it really failed to hook me in. It failed to make me really want to read what happens in the next chapter. I only (re)read through it because I thought it would be unfair to give it a low score without looking at everything.
