    Teaser.

HP could use few more fan-films like this.

The only problem is what WB stance will be about the productions that have a really high quality. Will the be more like Disney/Lucasfilm with Star Wars or more like Paramount with Star Trek.

There have been a dozen different fan-made trailers for series that never got off the air or delivered on half the quality they promised. Nothing made me think different about this one; what did it for you?

I was really surprised at the quality of this right up until the "Grisha McLaggan - Heir of Gryffindor" part.

"Coming soon" is a bit vague but I'd like to see this film. Hopefully, the OC will be bearable.

Some scenes from this teaser make me think of the Le Maitre de la Mort that I liked. Not to say they shouldn't be there, both films are about Tom Riddle after all. I'm just curious how it'll look in comparison.

Amazing visuals for a fan work, but the voice over on that trailer wasn't very good. She needed to pace herself more and the audio quality was somewhat shit. I like the idea of exploring how Riddle got away with Smith's murder, and the scandal of pinning it on the house elf seems fun.

On a side note: yup, I mucked about with audio production stuff in the past and it's completely ruined me for the audio snobbery. The more you know, the harder it gets to ignore the little things. Like the dreaded mouth noises. SCHPAK, SCHPAK.

I agree with Palindrome about the voiceover, it sounded like it was recorded in 5 minutes with a cheap PC mic.

Specially since we know she won't stop him. It would be interesting to see a story with Voldemort as the actual protagonist though.

Is that the one where Snape is ganged on by the Marauders but Crucios them and wins Lily's heart? because I wouldn't put it anywhere near good.

Yeah this just seems like a cheap way to get character motivation for the protagonist. Visual quality of the trailer is pretty good but I'll wait and see if they manage to pull it off.

So this fan film finally got released today:

Overall I enjoyed it, and yes, the whole Grisha McLaggan makes slight more sense once you see the entire fan film.

Basically, Tom is revealed to have not been the only Heir of a Founder at Hogwarts at the time, with their being both Hephzibah Smith's nephew and a heir to Ravenclaw.

Not a bad film overall, though the dubbing in this is atrocious. Like, I get that this was made and shot in Italy by a small Italian fan company, but the dubbing is almost Godzilla levels of bad.

The dubbing is hilarious. Also, I get that it's a fan production and I love that it exists at all, but trying to sell me a 20-something as a 12 year old just has me lulzing. Will keep watching though because I enjoyed the fighting at the beginning.

Acting is definitely fan-filmy. Writing is FFN-tier. And Jesus, the closeups of eyes.

Edit: yeah, this only looks good because they had good equipment and some neat sfx, but everything else is just bad. Acting, writing, the whole premise--who the fuck is this random Russian? Also basic lore mistakes. Horcrux is the only known form of immortality, except the Philosopher's Stone, which is described on chocolate frog cards. /headdesk

The dialogue.... holy shit! It was so bad. As Scott said, dubbing is distracting. Magic sucks in this. It's just bad.

I laughed when Tom called muggles filthy and Grisha completely ignored that as she kissed his ass.

For a fan project, I think this was amazing. And I'm hoping for more. I just worry that Warner Bros could axe this even though they said they were ok with it.
