Just thought I'd put up a thread to discuss Worlds 2021 so far.

It is 19.45 in Germany right now, and RGE has just blasted FPX out of worlds after C9's impossible run earlier. We stand on the precipice of the old NA vs EU rivalry blossoming once more into beautiful flowers of salt as the tie-breaker nears.

Let me ask you, where were you when the West rose up?

 

In bed honestly. Was expecting no west to make it through groups because overall the showing has been poor so far. When do rogue c9 play their tiebreaker?

I have a reached a state of being where nothing surprises or disappoints me anymore. Is it G2 that's been skewing the West's international stats so much in the past, or has this year just been horrible across the board?

As for the current game, I have zero faith in Rogue to do anything in the Quarters, but they are a EU team. Then again, I like Perkz and NA needs a break from the memes. So either way I'm fine.

 

Was that play on Odo worth the millions the spent on Perkz? Maybe.

 

Not making worlds last year to out of groups, Perkz the man.

 

For all his ints, Perkz is and remains a beast lol. I'd never expected C9 to make it past groups this worlds, especially not in that group. Kudos to them, I suppose. That was a sick run today.

PS: pls get Hans Sama on a different team. The dude is wasted on RGE.

C9 lives and dies on how int-y Perkz is feeling on the day. Unfortunately, the good teams have 5 people of Perkz' caliber.

I expect nothing from Rogue and I'm still let down.

 

Honestly, Rogue heavily outperformed my zero expectations by booting out FPX. That is more than I ever hoped for them. Much of that can likely be attributed to FPX imploding, but even so - they did it. For that at least they have my kudos.

Well that's it for this group. With 100T out, all that's left is for EDG and SKT to jostle for 1st place (highly likely that EDG will simply take it - they look clean). I probably won't bother watching the other games today.

 

My dudes and dudettes, I'm hyped af. Atrocious gameplay at times, but boy is group D a nailbiter. The first ever 4-way tie at Worlds. MAD making it out after such an horrendous early game. Gnarmut with the 5-man stun at baron. Umanoid with the clutch performance. And a last, decisive double kill Ez ult to cap it off. Chef's kiss. This day delivered. So glad I skipped workout in favor of watching groups today haha.

 

Only just started watching, what's the current situation. Is Gen.G Mad through and just playing for top seed?

 

Well the west did better than anyone was predicting, from having the predicted zero teams to two making it through. And Mad seem to pop off in Bo5's, be interesting to see how it goes.

 

At least we avoided the meme of not getting out of groups.

 

EU couldn't live it down if the LCS makes one team through and they didn't.

 

That would be the darkest timeline. And we barely avoided it.

 

Indeed. Tough luck drawing DK for quarters though. On the bright (hopium-overdosed) side, if we clap them early, we don't have to worry about them later.

The most Hopium filled part of my brain says that MAD is a very swingy team, and if they show up and DK fucks around a bit too much they might grab a game or two, but yeah. Not happening lol
