This is so full of win and has a potential to be a hit show (if only for a moment) that the only thing stopping it from being made is probably Rowling herself.

 

Make that at least R-rated and it would be awesome. I'd watch this for sure.

 

I could never watch it simply for the reason that it's based in America. It'd remind me too much of those Indy!Harry-goes-to-America-and-errything-is-awesome fics.

I don't understand this whole "Harry Potter be in mah england" mentality. Just because a few shitty fics of going-to-america fail doesn't mean HP magic in america can't be implemented in a darker dresden-like setting.

 

That's the problem. HP magic in America is never implemented in an HP setting.
It's always "fixed" the great enlightened America never has blood purists, never enslaves house elves, never makes hilarious mistakes when attempting to "go muggle". Basically HP in America is never HP.
