Rise of Iron is coming out. Looks like it'll be a pretty solid expansion (private matches!!!). I stopped playing shortly after the Spring Update but I'm itching to play new Destiny content again. Anyone else planning to pick it up?

 

TK was fine, but I'm fully in the 'wait until Destiny 2' camp.

And pvp is the one thing I care least about in Destiny, lol.

 

Waiting for the sequel to an MMO style game is kind of weird? Afaik, nothing has actually been confirmed.

Myself, I started playing again a few days ago after stopping at ... April? Thereabouts. Want to get a decent light level before the new expansion (which I pre-ordered, godfuckingdamn black Gally).

 

The race to finish the calcified fragments is on. I'll have an 8 hour window to get the Golgoroth challenge done before the expansion hits.
Hugplx want to jump in one of these days to do PvP with me? Still have to finish that questline for my Moments.

 

Yes, I preordered ROI. Took a break to play the division but that has its problems. i started playing destiny again about a keep ago to farm engrams for the release.

 

I'm so pumped for Rise of Iron. I've only been playing Crucible so I'm looking forward to finally having something new in PvE to do. Plus the new exotics and artifacts look sick. Finally no more sprint lock is a dream come true.

Biggest scoop? It's coming to PC.

 

Plenty of good news, and some worrying ones. The stuff about D2 itself sound excellent and exciting, though with all the hype over being released from console constraints makes me wonder how it will, in fact, run on consoles.

My biggest question marks are their plans for D1, and its connection to D2. It sounds like it won't be a direct continuation, but more of a spiritual successor, which sucks, because in that case that would mean that much of the plot (and every single bit of individual character progress) is going down the drain.

I suppose we'll have to wait for more news.

 

So. Destiny 2 is officially a thing, with pre-order and trailers and beta and everything.

Sigh.

I suppose a few months of freedom was all I could have asked for.

 

I'm just happy we're finally getting a proper cabal focus including a raid. They always were my favourite faction aesthetically.

 

Cabal are my least favorite, personally.

D2 on PC is the biggest takeaway. It was fine on console, but given the choice, I'll always play shooters on PC.

I wonder if they'll accommodate console to pc migration in any way. I know everything is basically being scrapped, but i figured there'd be some cosmetic carryover.

They said there will be cosmetic carry over and rewards for D1 veterans but we don't know if that applies if you're moving systems.

 

I think the carry over if for accounts, so it does not apply for systems. I look forward to the new grind. After 3 years, it has been a long time

 

What do y'all want, now that we're in a stage of knowing nothing.

Other than the obvious - bigger, more loot etc.

(my list could have already been added, haven't played since TTK).

I definitely want a deeper class system. Something that makes classes feel different above having different elemental grenades and supers.

Then within classes, I want variation. Kind of like how Diablo armor sets change how you play each class.

Maybe a couple more classes.

I want to fly a ship.

What I definitely want is more (any) friendly NPCs. Literally of any kind. An NPC Companion or more than one would be great but like, even simple NPCs who are just there to give a sense of scale. 'If it moves, shoot it' isn't the best strategy for world immersion.

A personal housing/base system. Definitely.

Actually getting to fly something would be cool, but not necessary.

I'll second the deeper class systems.

A matchmaking system of some kind or an 'LFG' chat of some kind. Having to use third parties for tha purpose is ridiculous.

 

I was thinking with the tower destroyed and us having no real base of operations, maybe they can incorporate that into a clan system. So you'd have groups of guardians building bases around the world and you could customise it and stuff. Like the Warframe dojos.

Wishfull thinking probably.

 

I don't want to waste time any more on managing the massive vault crisis. The permanent vault juggling, how to not overflow the postmaster storage and what to keep or dismantle is seriously nerfing my fun. I didn't even try the Wrath of the Machine Raid as I have no space for the gear. How pathetic is that for a freaking loot game?

 

Worldwide Gameplay Revel stream is hours away (10AM PT, whatever that is for you).

I'm cautiously optimistic and super curious.

Hope it's not like the Andromeda one, where the character is just running around environments...

 

I'm hope they show us that they've learnt from D1, and make an effort to actively show what they're doing to rectify those mistakes.

Wouldn't mind new classes/subclasses and maybe even a new race plox.
