Man, shiny Pokémon. I have a shiny Kricketune in my version of Pearl, nicknamed Seven... because it was the first shiny I had seen in seven fucking years. The last shiny was a Poochyena in Ruby... before you receive the Poké Balls.

What are the chances of a shiny? 1/8192 or something? I must have participated in at least three times that many wild battles since Gen II, and those are still the only random shiny Pokémon I've ever encounted.

Oh, I never mentioned it in this thread (I did in the Nuzlocke thread though). Shiny Wingull on my last X Nuzlocke.

I am fucking certain that fucking shinies are just a made up fucking hoax and that everyone is in on the fucking joke except me.

If you want an easy shiny (relatively speaking), just fish chain. Incredibly easy albeit tedious as fuck.

Chaining almost seems a bit too easy to get a shiny. Feels kind of cheap to me. I'd prefer finding one randomly rather than actually using a method specifically designed to make it easier.

I know what you mean, though. To me, it's not the same chaining a shiny as it is finding one.

    Masuda Methoding one, however...

After around three hundred attempts, I bred up a shiny Gastly. I was so happy, but then I realized that Shiny Haunter and Gengar look almost identical to regular Haunter and Gastly. Mega Gengar, however, looks bad ass.

I love my Shiny Mega Gengar. I've named him Shrike!

Find a shiny Magikarp in HeartGold but didn't catch it 'cause I already have the Red Gyarados from the Lake of Rage. A gold Magikarp isn't any more valuable than an ugly red one.

Not a shiny, but I did manage to find a Feebas in only four tiles during my new playthrough of Pearl. Took less than two minutes. My first ever Milotic is just around the corner (a bit of breeding required, though).

I haven’t played Pokemon for a while, but in the last couple of days, I’ve dusted off Pokemon Y. Today, I decided to clean out my To Breed box, and the first Pokemon I Wonder Traded away was a Binacle. In return I got its evolution, Barbaracle.

‘That’s kinda funny,’ I thought. ‘… Wait, why is this Barbaracle green?’

It’s shiny. Level 100, two IVs. I guess someone got bored of it? It doesn’t learn Waterfall, which should be a crime, but otherwise it’s fine.

Thank you, mysterious Japanese person. I shall treat this Pokemon kindly.

Rattata. Three rattata, in fact. One in Crystal (in a file that no longer exists), one in Fire Red (which I caught, and currently have stored on my Diamond version), and one in Soul Silver.

Also, I once saw a shiny pidgey (in Fire Red) - though I didn't catch it, because I didn't have any pokeballs yet.
