Spike Lee's documentary on Hurricane Katrina and the aftermath/politics, etc. It aired in two parts on two nights on HBO. I don't know how many of you have cable, but if you do and you haven't seen it, catch the repeats.

I had been paying attention before, but I suppose since I was nowhere near the disaster, it didn't really affect me as much...I was angry of course. And sympathetic. I watched Kanye West on TV saying "George Bush doesn't care about black people!" and I saw the news coverage on FEMA's fuck ups and New Orleans' cops shooting anything that moved because of the looting.

I even saw all that terrible stuff going on at the Superdome.

This documentary, though...to hear it from the survivors, and the way it was filmed...I think I cried through most of the damned film. Good, good stuff. Right up there with "Farenheight 9/11" maybe even better, IMO.

 

Because it is a film. Film as in movie?

 

I'll download it eventually, it's not massive race card bitching like alot of crap Spike Lee does is it?

I heard on the radio talks about the movie makes the claim that explosions where heard from the leevees?

 

I think the explosions heard were probably the leevees breaking under the pressure of the ocean.
