Yeah but the canon version makes little sense since they apparently toss all lawbreakers in there including pre-trial suspects like Hagrid in CoS.

Locking every lawbreaker up for life because the prison drives them insane is not a viable justice system. Its not just punitive, it's stupid. You could maybe make an argument that the 'original' part of the prison was like that, i.e where Sirius, the Deatheaters and other lifers were kept and the expanded parts are a bit more like a conventional prison perhaps with more conventional guards or perhaps just less Dementors and shared cells.

Instead of shanks you've got jail-made wands.
Contraband- illicit potions made with whatever is to hand. Corrupt Aurors casting cheering charms for serious gold just so people can feel joy for a little while and more gold for an obliviate so that can loose their worst memories. Gangs based on species and blood...

And a escape plan that is so crazy it might just work.

No one said it has to be canon specific in regards to Azkaban. Other than Caer Azkaban, how many fics really focus on what day to day life is like there? We're given the idea that there are Dementors floating around, you're in a small cell. Etc. I've got a really cool idea for Azkaban that I'd be interested to write for to be honest. I might even write it outside of the competition tbh.

Alright, I recast my vote for Azkaban. You other Jill Stein voters recast lest we end with the Trump that is Vampire theme.

Honestly the only prompt I wouldn't want to see is the Elder Wand, and it's the only prompt I wouldn't submit a story for. Hopefully this time I don't plot out an entire fic and then not write it like I did in Q1.

It's basically between Vampires and Azkaban, worry not.

If Azkaban does win this, I've already got my first concept sketched out after some thought. No masterpiece but I like it nonetheless, tropes or not.

Who will write the story where a young Dumbledore travels centuries back in time to fight the vampires of Azkaban for the Elder Wand?

But now my dream of the Elder Wand falling into the hands of an incredibly mundane wizard is endangered :(

Just make the mundane wizard a vampire and put him in Azkaban.

Serious point though, Q2 had 40 people vote on a prompt while this one has over 100.

For someone who voted this time but not last time, were the prompts that bad? Or what's led to you voting this time around?

They were advertised on the front page this time as a pop-up ad. I'm pretty sure we didn't do that last time.

Likewise, one line prompts are restrictive. These are abstract.

Personally I prefer the more detailed prompts. I feel it encourages more creativity rather than less in myself (maybe not everyone).

These generic prompts are too broad to really interest me in the same way. Not that I finished the last several stories I started for these, but I did start them all.

But yes. We advertised more this time.
