Overall a decent story. Has its gags and its humor elements and is crossed over with an anime I have no idea about. But no interludes, which is an immediate plus. I know what I've said isn't a ringing endorsement but there isn't much about it I can say is bad.

    4/5

    Give it a shot.

Lol, time for me to read this then. I've liked the snippets I've seen of it. Is the crossover that relevant?

I would say no but one of the mcs is from the anime. I read it with out context of the source show short of worm and it works.

I liked it, I guess. I parallels Kizumonogatari closely enough that it lost my interest a few times. The mix between the supernatural portions of each universe is definitely the most interesting thing in the story.

Possibly you'd enjoy this more if you weren't as familiar with the Monogatari side of things? I don't think it should be too hard to follow, at least.

All that aside, it's fairly well written in Monogatari style. Araragi's character arc is interesting, even keeping in mind that it's not exactly the author's original idea. 3/5 for now.

Slogged through to about chapter 8 before I called it quits. I remember wanting to check out Bakemonogatari years and years ago because the premise sounded neat but since then I've lost all interest in anime and the like.

A lot his reads like an anime transcript, from the inner monologue to the "maa maa" in the dialogue. As far as I can tell the only Worm elements present are the setting and a smattering of characters that have been woobified or weebified, like Victor and Othala who behave more like Jessie and James from Pokemon than superpowered Nazi villains. The protagonist's last interaction with Victor is particularly absurd.

Fight scenes were well written but all the character interaction is dull, especially when Panacea is reduced to tsundere-waifu or whatever combination of tvtropes terms you choose.

On its own this is a pretty bland and tepid story, contrary to the title. 2/5 from me. Not terrible but nothing novel or good that'd make me consider picking it up again in the near future.

I enjoy this story a lot. I'm a tad biased as I enjoy weeb shit and cliches, but the way Monogatari "the world is a stage and humans aren't supposed to see what goes on behind the curtain" and Worms whole "cops and robbers game" thing is being combined is interesting.. The dialogue style will probably grate on people who don't enjoy Monogatari but I quite liked the banter between Araragi and the Worm characters that have shown up so far.

I can agree on the sentiment that some of it is rehash of Kizu but now that we're getting into the Taylor arc it's definitely gone off that track and looks to be getting better.

The conclusion to the first arc was fantastically riveting. There are certainly problems with the story, but I'm quite happy I read it.

Was a little back and forth on this for a while, mostly for the aforementioned problems with the very lifted dialogue pattern of Monogatari. Which clashes hard with Worm and those expecting similar to it. The settings clash as well and while the narrative makes some necessary allocations for them to ‘cooccur’ it didn’t come across as anything other than necessity to me.

The recent few chapters (10-13ish) definitely hooked me though, despite the obvious similarities to Heaven’s Feel in FSN, I found the latter two of this arc’s fights to be pretty excellent.

Writing quality is definitely library worthy, just deserves a disclaimer indicating more anime in its DNA than Worm.

Can you take the time to actually review it if you're gonna shit talk it? See how everyone else is posting?
What would you rate this story since you seemed to enjoy it?

I'm sticking with the 3/5 from my first reply for now. Things are getting better I found the start of the story dull enough that I don't think it deserves a 4/5 quite yet.
