It looks like my musical tastes trend a little more towards folk/Americana than most here, but here are a few songs I've been enjoying this summer.

Also for ye Country Fans looking for something new but familiar Johnny Cash has a significant amount of covers my favorites are, Rusty Cage, Have You Ever Seen the Rain, and The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down

As far as folk-ier tunes, the Dreadnoughts are top tier, here are some personal favorites, the Black and White, the Bay of Suvla, Avalon, Katie Bar the Door, and Foreign Skies.

Also worth mentioning is Hospice by the Antlers forgot to mention it, very slow and sad.

Also the Protomen Act I and II by the Protomen are excellent, basically tells a dramatized version of Megaman, and is quite excellent at it. Upbeat technorock that has an inspiring message what more could you want.

All three albums should be listened to in order seeing as how they pick up where there predecessor left off.

Pretty Peggy, White Unicorn, Dimension, Woman, The Joker and the Thief, and Vagabond, all by Wolfmother are excellent. Very up beat alt rock.

Down in the Valley, and Rivers and Roads, by the Head and the Heart are slow nostalgic songs. With topics ranging from homesickness to growing old, is good

Fuck yes. Grover Washington Jr. is seriously prime jazz music. One of my personal favorites is Earth Tones

Filthy Frank - Squalpat and Tygris - First chunk is a really lovely little hiphop beat and it starts getting a bit heavier and more neuro-y towards the end. First chunk gets stuck in my head pretty regularly.

a live set by Kurup - I've really been falling in love with this style of really slowed down, hypnotic house/techno. Been listening to this mix a lot over the last few weeks and it's proven exceptionally satisfying for both active and passive listening.

Alteleyeshegnem - Alemayehu Eshete - I have no idea how to properly pronounce this track title but it's a really fantastic piece of funk/soul from an excellent label.

I've never been to Japan mix by Viktor Kiswell - Extremely groovy mix of Japanese jazz and funk
