I really like the Shins lately, this whole album Port of Morrow is lit

Also New Slang is good too

Also for ye Country Fans looking for something new but familiar Johnny Cash has a significant amount of covers my favorites are, Rusty Cage, Have You Ever Seen the Rain, and The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down

As far as folk-ier tunes, the Dreadnoughts are top tier, here are some personal favorites, the Black and White, the Bay of Suvla, Avalon, Katie Bar the Door, and Foreign Skies.

    That's it for now.

Also worth mentioning is Hospice by the Antlers forgot to mention it, very slow and sad.

Also the Protomen Act I and II by the Protomen are excellent, basically tells a dramatized version of Megaman, and is quite excellent at it. Upbeat technorock that has an inspiring message what more could you want.

All three albums should be listened to in order seeing as how they pick up where there predecessor left off.

Pretty Peggy, White Unicorn, Dimension, Woman, The Joker and the Thief, and Vagabond, all by Wolfmother are excellent. Very up beat alt rock.

Down in the Valley, and Rivers and Roads, by the Head and the Heart are slow nostalgic songs. With topics ranging from homesickness to growing old, is good

No links I'm afraid im on mobile with limited battery

Any fans of Hozier here? A man can't live on rock alone, and this is my favorite mellow outlet - In a Week is my particular favorite.

It's because Cash's version of "Hurt" is way too popular for what it is (imo it's a bad cover and NiN did it so much better)

my country contribution is God is a Working Man by Jason Isbell

This one gets stuck in my head all the time. It's a collab between Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. The combination of the soft vocals, the heavy guitar, and her fiddle is mesmerizing.

Nothin' (It's a Townes van Zandt cover)

Alright so I didn't know there was a music rec thread, but I have way too much music not to drop some of it in here.

Alerta album by Cocoa Roots, my fav tracks are Piensa, Me Gusta, and Salto De Fe; Somos is off another album but just as good.

    Still Feel by Half Alive.

    Figures by Jessie Reyez.

    Melodrama album by Lorde.

You Were Beautifuland Congratulations (Eng Versions) by DAY6; I recommend Time of Our Life and Shoot Me too but they aren't in English if that isn't your thing.

You Get What You Give by the New Radicals purely because it's been in my head lately.

Cuz I Love You by Lizzo.

    Atlantica II by Pekoe.

Ghost by Ella Henderson because that's also come up in my playlist lately and I like the original the best.

Ghost by Badflower (this whole album is pretty good, but Heroin and Ghost are the best).

    Rise Up by Andra Day.

    Wolves by Rag'n'Bone Man.

Some old country because I've been in the mood: Going Out Like That (Reba), If I Had Wings (Dolly)

Who Says You Can't Go Home by Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles

Places We Won't Walk by Bruno Major

I've No More...To Give by Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq

Drawing the Line by Royal Pirates (I'm sad the bassist can't play anymore).

EXO's Exodus album is really good imo.

Hikikomori and Orange Drive by Bang Yongguk

NF's new The Search album is one of my favorite rap albums in a while.

Saw Reverend Sekou's work on the Memphis Blue Underground and I'm really impressed.

A Terrible Ride sung by Kirsten Helland (Broadway)

    FOOLS cover by Nor'easters

I'll leave it at that for now lol. I didn't even get to most of my rock.

Fuck yes. Grover Washington Jr. is seriously prime jazz music. One of my personal favorites is Earth Tones

Filthy Frank - Squalpat and Tygris - First chunk is a really lovely little hiphop beat and it starts getting a bit heavier and more neuro-y towards the end. First chunk gets stuck in my head pretty regularly.

a live set by Kurup - I've really been falling in love with this style of really slowed down, hypnotic house/techno. Been listening to this mix a lot over the last few weeks and it's proven exceptionally satisfying for both active and passive listening.

Alteleyeshegnem - Alemayehu Eshete - I have no idea how to properly pronounce this track title but it's a really fantastic piece of funk/soul from an excellent label.

I've never been to Japan mix by Viktor Kiswell - Extremely groovy mix of Japanese jazz and funk

Any Brian Jonestown Massacre fans? I've never done acid, but this is what I imagine it feels like. I could listen to this hours.
