Got into this and it's surprisingly fun. I've been playing for a day and have accumulated 50 unique ships without hating the grind.

It's a pretty chill game for having a gatcha.

I've spent real money on the game, but only for outfits I really wanted. Haven't ever had to spend a cent on it to get ships.

Mind, I've been pretty lucky (I got Shinano UR on my second 10 pull, which was awesome.)

    Very casual friendly game.

Yeah, as mentioned upthread, it's very noob friendly, especially in comparison to a lot of other gacha games. The mercy system is pretty flexible, and changes quite frequently, so you can get some mainstays that way.

It does get very grindy in events though - the current event is six stages, with 3-5 waves on each. You need to manually move your fleet to each one, and sometimes that isn't just a single click, as the turn limit means you can only move so far each time. It is something that annoys me with the events, and I don't grind anywhere near as much as some people do because of it.

In other news, Funimation has picked up the physical distribution rights, and in typical Funimation style, have fucked it up. They're dropping the rating from MA to 14, and censoring large parts of it. I never got past around episode 3, despite meaning to, although I've heard that episode six is pretty much porn, even if it's all female.

Everyone managed to get the UR Fluff? Mine came in around 50 pulls, and I'm now debating whether it's worth chasing more for the LB or not.

Speaking of - UR (or SSSR) ships are now a thing from the Gacha. Introduced with Shinano, an IJN CV, they're (possibly) going to have an even worse drop rate, but it looks like they might have a mercy system similar to Arknights - you WILL get Shinano on your 200th (and multiples of) build, even if you've got one already. Otherwise, she's at a 1.2%, which isn't as bad as some of the others in the banner, tbh.

Also, introduction of 'Munition Ships' as a class (only one, so far). These can equip cargo (only two, so far), which boosts your fleet:
    - Air Cargo, which increases AVI by 8%
    - Gun Cargo, which increase FP of Main Fleet and Large Cruisers by 10%.
However, can only equip DD guns herself. Overall, not certain whether she's a big bonus or not, although I'm sure someone's theorycrafted a fleet or two with her already.

FWIW the new UR Bulin is a permanent addition to the game, in the shop. (You need 4k~ of the stuff to get each one though.)

No need to chase more Shinano if you don't mind waiting to LB.

I started like two or three days ago, and didn't get the free ten rolls that apparently everyone else got for the event. I have grinded like crazy and managed to roll 55 times, and HAVE YET TO GET SHINANO. I don't have a stockpile of cubes like older players, and my current rate of a couple rolls a day mean I'm a long, long way away from the mercy system having any mercy.

Meanwhile, Luckylee gets Shinano on his first roll ever on the game, Enterprise on his second, and three more enterprises while I was freaking out in chat about it.

    The gacha gods are cruel.

I'm having fun with this. Composition stuff for ships probably isn't too complicated but I cba reading about it so I'm just using the cutest girls I have and hoping for the best. Fuck the several hour long commissions though they're so xp efficient but not being able to actually play the game kind of blows.

Here's some (not necessarily fully up to date as of latest event) Tier lists.

Ship Tier List (T0 = Best)
    https://preview.redd.it/gneo5s2i9gk...bp&s=9cd6cd52a98444b77e3593ccd90bcd28dcdaeaf2

    Recommended Equipment List:

Those should be a good place to get started if you need help figuring out who/what to prioritize.

Also, if you're just starting don't forget you can farm map 3-4 to try and get Kaga and Akagi, who are SR IJN Carrier's that work very well together.

I also recommend the Azur Lane reddit, since they're very friendly and helpful.

For equipment personalized on a per-ship basis, there's also this google doc:
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...Al8bOGPUMp0oncVFeJAzSjdEgg/edit#gid=594301529

As an example - Laffey has better gun stats than Ayanami, so it's worth giving her a higher powered gun. But Ayanami has an 'every X shots' skill, so still needs a *fast* gun.

WRT commissions - I'd not worry about these, as a new player, until you've got a middling stable of ships. You want to have at least 13, so you can run two full fleets, and then send everyone else out. The 'auto-select' option will pick the lower level ships from Level 2 and up that aren't in a fleet, so you still need to manually select new builds.

Just got a second Shinano, sadly don't think I'll be able to hit the 200 pulls for the guaranteed one.

I didn't farm nearly as much as I should have, but I got all the ships. Only thing I'll really miss out on is the trophy and the gold fighter from HT6.

I have the gems, so figured I'd make a DLP guild so we can ogle each other's waifus and curse gacha gods when people roll SR's.

Ah, I'm on Sandy, and too far in for switching to be worthwhile. If there's anyone else on the same, let me know, and I've got enough to set up a sister-fleet.

I just realized that I screwed up during the the last event. Specifically that I mixed up Roon µ and Taihou µ.

I built Taihou µ during the the event and because I thought that left me with extra room to spend points as I didn't need to worry about having enough to get her from the event shop and went and purchased all the unique furniture at the time, instead of grabbing everything at the end like I usually do. Then today I went to spend the points I had left over and decided to double check that I actually had Roon µ. Nope. Also, to add insult to injury I was around 500 points short of being able to get her anyway.

A bit annoying as I would have all the event characters if I hadn't been stupid and missed the fact that Roon µ was a shop exclusive and that I in fact didn't already have her.

Everyone ready for Guilds 2.0, Sirens, and Ashen ships?

As an aside, my current guild (Sandy Server) has around 15 slots left if anyone wants in. I've not kept up with the news, as the TLs are slow and inconsistent, but I've heard we can use guildmates/friends secretaries as supports... My FdG is still only on 27, because the grind is so very slow. But I finally finished Ibuki, so I'm not on 3/2/- for PR ships, focusing on Odin for now.

Thoughts on Operation Siren and Guilds 2.0?

    For O:S -

You're limited to 2+3 assists per day. This means if you don't manage to get to that point within a certain timeframe, you're out of luck; although it only requires ~6 missions to get there. Also, only being able to run your own twice a day means that there isn't quite as much of a grind. Jumping in to assist is a bit of a crapshoot, but if you lurk in the homescreen and dive on any that crop up, I didn't have any problems that way.

The map drops for improving equipment give me more reason to actively play outside of events, especially as this is a permanent (albeit refreshed seasonally) gamemode. It looks like it's going to be another major grind though, as the requirements for each bit of equipment in the tree are pretty obscene.

OTOH, I'm disliking the handholding - this event is locked to Level 60 and up... So you should know by now how to move around maps. And consistent mission end pop-up doesn't actually add anything

The map clearing is *hard*, and the four fleets are needed. I'm going to need to start training up way more of the second-stringers I've had, because I don't have 24 ships at the highest levels, or equipped properly. Thankfully, I have a near-maxed out KMS fleet with a bunch of overlapping skills, and Roon is murdering pretty much everything.

From what I've seen myself/Reddit, you'll probably want all four fleets to be very distinct - Shelling, Air, Torpedo, Mob - as the bosses can (at higher levels) just have immunity to one damage type. Personally, I've only seen a max of 50% resist so far though. And with a 3 month session to go first, plenty of time to get better equipment and skills set up.

    Guilds 2.0 -

As I'm not the owner/officer for my current guild, I'm not in charge of the direction at all. The additions all look good though, and make being in a guild actually useful.

Someone was posting on Reddit that your highest bonuses will stick with you - so if you have the Guild Tech for +5 dock space, then start your own guild, you personally will retain the +5, even if your new guild has to be built back to the same level. I do hate having to manually re-accept the 'kill 180' quests though.

However, we're failing all the guild quests. Not everyone's joining, and not everyone's throwing in second/third teams on the longer missions. I presume that might change after Christmas though. I do wonder if the difficulty is set for everyone, or changes per guild.
