From today on you can only reread books you have previously read.

    Or

You can only read new books and no rereads.

    Which do you choose.

    For me? Old books.

Only new, as much as I do enjoy older books, I only read them when I feel as though I can't find anything new to read. Which is a weak ass excuse that allows me to play it safe. So only being able to read new books would be big

I'm going to have to go with option C. only borrowed books, with honorable mention to option D. Only blue books.

Sure you don’t want only blue books?

New only. Off the top of my head I can't think of any books I would want to reread. The really good books tend to stick so I don't really feel the need to reread them.

Giving up on new books means never being able see the ending of an unfinished series. Kingkiller #3 will come out some day. I hope.

Also I still haven't read the Lord of the Rings or Wheel of Time so there's that too.

It really was a tough choice, they would go really well with the rest of my house. But in the end all the money I could save only borrowing books when I actually want to read them was the tie-breaker, that corvette doesn't maintain itself you know.

    Old.

There's a particular joy in rediscovering the characters while knowing their entire path, ups and downs; all those little details finally make sense and you can enjoy them properly. When I read for too long (it happens every other day), my eyes tend to wander so I often skip a few words, sometimes a whole sentence and rarely, but it happened, an entire paragraph or even page, so finding a new bit of world-building or particularly on-point conversation in my rereads makes me happier than it should.

The only downside of this choice is that I (hopefully) have more years in front of me than behind, and I'm not sure if the amount of books I've read so far is going to be enough to keep me entertained, (Also, the tastes tend to change with years so in 2040 I might hate half of my favorites.) but as of now, I wouldn't be able to give up on my preciouses that I've found so far. They're safe haven that I'm unwilling to let go of.

    New.

Too young and haven't read enough books to be content re-reading for the rest of my life.

If I have to make a choice, old. But I'll echo what Ched said.

Only new (to me). I almost never re-read stuff, so while I'd be sad to lose my favorite series, there's a *lot* of stuff out there that I haven't read.

    Old.

I'd like to say new, because I would never run of reading material and I'd find so many great stories to expand my horizons.

But let's be real here, if I don't want to read anything new now, then I'll just make myself miserable for the future. Besides, there's nothing like grabbing my favorite Agatha Christie to read at a restaurant.

I think old is the easy choice here, but new is the right one.

I could certainly loose myself in the comfort old books, and it'd suck to never read some of them again, but I think I'd be better off reading new books, learning new things.

New. Statistically speaking, I have several more decades ahead of me which could be several decades worth of good writers producing new and exciting stories. I'm firmly in the camp that society as a whole has gotten better, not worse, at producing stories for consumption.

I'd go new 100%. I don't generally re-read stuff very often, and if I was forced to only loop through stuff I've already experienced, I'd get bored so fucking far it's not funny. So it's not even really a question.

New, without hesitation. Like Halt said, I think the best of fiction is only ahead of us.

Only new, I already do that anyway. I hate rereading/rewatching stuff, what's the point when you already know all the twists.
