Is it just me but I have been seeing alot of Haphne fics on ffn ao3. I didn't know this pairing was so popular. Hell I barely see any Heur Or Honks fics anymore. I'm pretty sure Haphne has surpassed most pairings and will probably surpace Harmony, Hinny in future. Some kind of record right for a character you only see once in canon.

 

Yeah Daphne is super overrated as a character. Honestly if someone is considering her they should just be honest and use an OC.

Not to mention the terrible ice queen rich socialite tropes. Absolute bottom barrel scrapes of ffanfic.

 

Yeah actually Heur Or Honks would be more interesting as the older women/younger man pairing but doesn't seem to have much takers.

 

Clearly, you don't appreciate Daphne. Her parents were 'Proudly Neutral' in the face of genocidal maniacs. Before reading fanfic, I wouldn't have known that this happens to be a virtue.

And she is very important for Harry to break free of Dumbledore and the Weasleys who were only his friends because they could steal his money - after all, who wouldn't run away from their greatest ally, who also happens to be the only person the madman hellbent on killing you fears?

forbidden love is an ancient trope, and Daphne peaked like 14 years ago and it's pretty much just being perpetuated by the same people the whole time, or people who are just discovering the fandom for the first time.

 

Big Haphne fan but a lot of issues with Haphne fics are they're just not believable or this is serious bashing. Contractual invalidation, unatoned, duality are great fics but majority of Haphne is straight trash.

Haphne is my fave. I enjoy the Slytherin-Gryffindor dynamic, and the usually antagonistic relationship at the start. It creates a setting for the pairing that's more interesting than the other popular picks.

Pansy is good too but then you have to deal with her canon portrayal.

 

I'm not sure about Pansy isn't she just Malfoy's whore/lackey? Tracey Davis is good as well but with Daphne you have the whole posh pureblood angled covered
