Alright, I know I've been away for a while but bear with me. I've been busy as hell.

    Challenge #2
When Harry is hit by the killing curse, it leaves a permanent damage in his magical channels leaving unable to work any magic--a squib. However, the damage also affects how he reacts to incoming magic, making him totally immune to direct magical effects. So now he has to fulfill the prophecy using only mundane means, knowing he can't be affected by any curse.

    Challenge #3
After the events of Hannibal, Clarice Starling thinks raising a child would help to further Dr. Lecter's "domestication". However, she appears to have a fertility problem. Thus, they set out to find an orphan. While in the UK, they happen upon the Dursleys and notice how poor Harry is treated. This reminds the Doctor of his days in the Lithuanian orphanage, so they set out to brutally murder the Durlseys, possibly in front of Harry's eyes if that's your kink, and ostensibly "rescue" him through adoption (under supposed names obviously). After a few years, an owl from Hogwarts arrives in Buenos Aires...

    Conditions applying to both challenges:
--I'd prefer no pairings, but if there must be any, they should not be Harry/Draco, Harry/Snape or Harry/Ginny
--No 'in media res' start. I hate those framing devices
    --Third person only

There you go. Hope someone takes these up.

I like the thought of Lector and Clarice raising Harry, to find how Harry turns out from having those two to raise him, they would treat him better then the durseys so harry would likley think they rescued him, even if they murdered the Durseys infront of him.

I find the first challenge stupid, if someone writes it will it turn into yet another story were muggle technology kicks the ass of magic, but with the added benefit of harry being totally immune to magic.

There would be no chance for the Death Eaters, harry would walk around slaughtering them and they could not do anything to stop him, it would just be boring...

Note that he's just immune to the direct effects of magic. Someone could still, for instance, set his clothes on fire magically.

What would stop DE's from taking Harry out through indirect means? At its simplest levitating a big rock and dropping it would kill Harry. And since wizards can apparate I simply cannot see how Harry would have even the slightest of chance in winning unless he always took the DE's totally by surprise.

Not to mention that I atleast enjoy HP because it is magical. I don't really want to read a story of Harry-the-squib. I could read one where Harry's magic was somehow damaged forcing him to wield it differently or something like that but not one where he has no magic whatsoever.

I think that'd be kind of hard to miss. Plus it's possible to protect against that by wearing a helmet. However, hey, it's just an idea.

    About 1st challenge:

It will be out of Hogwarts at the beginning, therefore it might be annoying filthy street rat Harry or cliche Harry-raised-by-some-cool-people. I suppose he will be even using a katana? Personally I enjoy reading about Harry using magic and brains and developing both. In this challenge it will be neither it seems. At least if Killing Curse damaged his magic give him some interesting compensation like enchanced brain and turn him into genius!Harry :) I prefer smart Harry over super at any time.

Confrontation between powerful wizard and physically trained and immune against direct magic Harry will be over the second wizards understood his ability. In any case when most people think about wizarding combat they think about people "shooting" "rays of light" at each other.

A small fight in "the Return" from Taure

Competent wizard with an O in NEWTS Transfiguration and Charms will wipe the floor with him once the surprise is over or the ability is well known.

Well, y'all are right. It's kind of a stupid idea. Though I don't think it's as plain as some of you've been saying, just refer to the Wizard vs Muggle thread. However, that's not something to discuss here. So yea, forget about that one and focus on the 3rd. I'm more interested in it anyway.

The first one could be cool, although it'd probably end up with a sword-wielding anime-happy Harry chopping down DE's... Meh.

No takers for the second challenge? I'd really like to see something like that. I would write it myself, but I don't have enough knowledge of the Hannibal tetralogy.
