Yes, at Lily's bedside in I think the 3rd from most recent chapter.

I would much prefer it if someone assassinated Lily so that Harry can't do that anymore.

He'd probably whip it out at the funeral. (Anyone puns that and they have lost my respect, I'm looking at you Jenkins)

Fuck it, I'll give it a whirl.

    Must...resist...urges. Bad...pun...imminent.

Nah it's no huge deal, I didn't have that much of a problem with the guitar thing to be honest and it's barely played any role in the fic at all. I'm more worried about his sword.

I think Archades is what really keeps me in this fic. Quite possibly the best OC I've ever seen.

EDIT: 450th post...I'm just gonna finish up now before I lose Sera's respect.

It's a flamberge or something. Now I'm a fencer. But that's just gay. Hopefully he wont use it very much.

Yeah getting a magical sword with unknown abilities from a Vampire is pretty bad. So far the sword has only been used to slice up Werewolves, but I have a feeling that sword will show up quite a bit. Luckily the guitar only seems to show up at Lily's bedside, although I'm worried about it making a comeback with Archie's recent singing ability being shown. If they form a band or have any sort of musical collaboration I will never read this again.

I'll still read it, even if I only laugh at how stupid the author is.

The author is guilty of completely and unrealistically (even in fanfiction fandom) overpowering Harry with atypical and often cliched items/powers. It's the primary reason I would consider this particular author as a bad author and why it would deter me from reading this. His overpowering character effects all facets of a lot of what I would consider the poor writing in this fic ( a lot of the times, such as the vampires, they seem to be plot devices to excuse Harry's power/influence increase). If you can get over a ridiculously overpowered Harry then this will be a decently enjoyable read (especially considering the update rate).

I wouldn't say he's ridiculously over-powered. I mean yeah he's pretty pumped up and with all the connection you'd find in a bad fic but somehow this author seems to make it work.

I think it's the fact that Harry has to actually work to get what he wants (cept for quidditch but we can overlook that). It's not like he finds a trunk that has all Godric Gryffindor's otherworldy possessions that will turn him into superman if he says the word Gryffindor.

That's just me though. But I am really quite partial to this fic.

He's definitely powerful, but the author provides some explanations that make it a little better.

    1. He started learning magic before Hogwarts.

    2. He's obsessed with learning as much as he can and devotes most of his time to learning/practicing.

    3. He can practice in the summer. (Although this is only because of the rather cliche: I've-got-a-badass-wand thing)

    4. He's a sixth year by now, so although it's Triward Tournament time, he's actually 16.

Obviously these are just ways to explain, maybe rather poorly, his large magical power, but I'm partial to this fic as well so I can live through the magical swords and powerful Harry. I cannot live through them forming a band, no matter how funny it may be in a completely wrong sort of way SKsniper128. That's where I draw the line.

I'm looking for entertainment, not realism. Those two things unfortunately clash on occasion.

Vampires giving out precious magical artifact surely isn't the best plot device in the world, but I can deal with it if it belongs to a larger story arc.

If you think about what Dumbledore was supposedly capable of as a student compared to other wizards, his magical talents aren't that ridiculous. The author's inability to scale challenges up to meet a very talented Harry means he just runs around pwnzing everything with minimal effort though.

Fucking katanas...we can only thank god the author hasn't sunk that low.
    However:

Flamberge = flamberge =" beg flamer" (imagine Irish accent) = big flamer. Which equals FAIL SAMMICH WITH FAGGY SAUCE.

Meh. I know I'm still gonna read this damn story though, so I'm done bitching.

I rather enjoy this story, although harry is incredibly "super" the things he will have to do in the future seem pretty epic and difficult even for him. The most important factor however is the fact that the story has a plot, according to the A/N's the plot won't really start until after harry leaves hogwarts though...

However Lily's pending resurrection makes me wince sometimes, its like reading Saving Conner, the knowledge that something apparently unreadable is on the horizon freaks me out.

Oddly enough, even though I despise his other story I rather like this one.

The story is now updated with chapter 26. I thought it was pretty good. There were a few rough points but Lizzy bashing Hermione with a wooden spoon was humerous, and I enjoyed Sarcastic Harry at the end. I cracked up at:

A decent chapter and the guitar is staying away for the time being, although I suspect it will revive itself come Christmas.

I agree, this chapter wasn't too bad actually. I didn't like the way the author basically redid the entire champions-in-the-room scene just from Cedric's point of view.

Did the author nick the advisers idea from jBern?

All in all, one of the better chapters. I really liked the Moody scene.

The story started off pretty awkwardly for me. The same old crap about the guitar and all that shit is what turned me off for a while. However, I found this story back in the recycle bin and tried to read it again.

Once the story got to the 4th year-ish and on, it became at least bearable(sometimes even enjoyable). Still a lot of the forced humor within this story makes me cringe, and Harry having his glare-of-doom makes me want to just slap him. The story makes this standoffish nerd similar to Shezza's Harry in how everyone bends over backwards for his temper. At least I like Shezza's because he's funny in a jackass way and he's got a Denarian.

Also the recent interaction between him and Fleur seemed rushed. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference if the author slapped a soul-bond or whatever on the two by how quickly they start hitting it off.

HOWEVER, I do give thumbs up to the author for not doing the very overused plot of putting Harry in the Triwizard Tournament as a contestant. This must have been the first Harry as non-BWL that wasn't in the tournament. That really surprised me unlike a lot of other idiots who put Harry in it for no apparent reason while Harry's not the BWL. They can't even usually justify why he would be in the tournament when canon fake-Moody only wanted to have Harry participate in it so he can be sent to Voldemort(Why the tournament and not just hand him a portkey I would never know).

    3/5 because it's a decent read when you're bored.

Author note at the end was pretty interesting, no Golden Eggs this time around, apparently.

Moody/Crouch was brilliant, Hermione bashing not too bad either.

Is it just me, or did the Death Eaters actually plan on entering Harry? 'Moody' seemed pretty irritated when Harry left the Imperius lesson.

Blatantly. He had to fit Harry into the TriWizzy somehow.

...If I were Cedric, I would've asked the Hat (JBern style). I can hear the conversation now:

(Hat on Cedric's head) "Okay, Golden boy; I see you've been spreading your seed all summer...bit of a freak, eh Diggory?"

"Are you looking at my memories?!"

"No, Huffle-Queef, I'm sorting through them. Sorting Hat, remember?...Jesus Christ, Diggory - 'dog & cat' role-playing? Though considering you're that idiot Black's 'protege', that's not surprising...always suspected he had a thing for Minnie."

"Aren't you supposed to be a wizened, benevolent song lyricist?"

"Go one-thousand fucking years without wanking and see how benevolent you are, half-a-prick! Since bedding women seem to be something you're decent at, enough minor league shite -how about going for the ultimate conquest?"

"But...Fleur likes Harry, and what my private life have to do with the Tournament is beyond-"

"No, not that Veela twat, boy! I'm talking about Madame Everest Tits!"

    "Madame Maxime?!"

"Clearly not, seeing as there are so many other half-giant French former Playwizard models mucking about - or has Black thoroughly depraved you into trying to fuck Saggy-Vagy McGonagall?"

    *Cedric vomits*

    "Pfft, Triwizard Champion indeed."
