    Get over it . . .

Harry actually plays guitar like, what? three or four times in the entire fic? That's not very much . . .

The fact of the matter is, the guitar exists for one purpose only - to give Harry some kind of connection with his comatose mother.

Other than that, she just happens to be a blood relation who gave birth to him.

He doesn't know her, doesn't know anything about her really, other than that one thing.

She liked to play, and was good at plating, the guitar.

As an eight year old boy (I can't exactly remember how old I wrote that he started playing), how is that so obscure for him to want some kind of connection with his mother? Especially a lonely child like he was, without any friends? The fact that he refuses, or strongly dislikes playing in front of, or for anyone else, shows how he jealously guards that connection.

The sword that everyone seems so fascinated about for some reason? The only response I can give that won't ruin any plot is that there are many creatures and beings that are highly resistant to magic. Granted, he could Transfigure things into physical blades to cut or damage them, but it's much easier and quicker, fighting against smaller beings with a blade rather than hoping they don't close in on him before he can kill them.

Think of that group of Gorpack for instance . . . he would be hard pressed to defend himself with magic if twelve of them closed in on him with spears (magic alone, that is).

What if two beings came at him with their own swords? Sure, he could focus on one to restrict its movement, but what about the other? He'd be butchered before he could slow down one, let alone kill them - assuming they're skilled, that is.

Other than that, have at it with the bashing, it's rather fun to read.

From the guy who started out as a Naruto fanfiction writer and cannot change his name . . .

I really don't think there is all that much "bashing" going on anymore Mr.Sannin. Sure, occasionally you'll find someone who hates certain parts of your story, but it happens to everyone, and yes, I mean everyone. The fact of the matter is, your story while interesting, entertaining, humorous, etc. is chock full of clichés. Is that a bad thing? Not necessarily, as you're unusually good at pulling them off, and not letting them explain themselves as many authors seem to do.

If you want to see flaming, look in any of the "Hall of Shame" threads, or if that doesn't do it for you check the "A Second Chance at Life" thread, and search for Sree's posts. You're not being flamed, you're being critiqued, criticized even, but not flamed or bashed.

Honestly, your story is probably the only one currently on fanfiction thats updates I actually look forward to (kudos for that). Anyway, good story, chill out a little, and have a look around. Welcome to DLP, even though you're probably not going to stay.

I know this is completely off topic, but where did you get that dinner jacket? It is fucking hot.

About your fic. Are all of the girls in Hogwarts really as big whores as you describe them, or is it just Harry being an asshole and making generalizations based on one or two people?

The whole Hogwarts whores thing was just my view of the majority of girls back when I was in high school. Sure, Harry's generalizing, but the sad fact with that is, in this day in age, the majority of the girls are . . .

That isn't to say that there still aren't girls who'll actually wait to be in a meaningful relationship before giving it up, I'm just speaking from personal experience . . .

And when I see girls go home with guys after meeting them that night when I go clubbing, I just can't help but feel a little depressed . . . where are the parents teaching their children morals these days?

And do I really have to post an intro? . . . how annoying.

I will admit to being one of the guitar-bashers, but only because I generally dislike cliches. Trust me, DLP flames are much worse than what you have been given. People generally like your story, but we like to nit-pick on small details we don't like, such as the guitar and the sword. Rest assured that your story is well liked. I think you have improved a lot as the story has moved along and thought your idea for the first task was very good. Try not to take the mild criticism too hard, and go introduce yourself!

Yes you do. And click no links given by Big D.

And while you're views of women are cynical, they are unfortunatly accurate.

Whether or not you wish to do an intro depends on how long you intend to stay here.

Good to see you explain everything a bit better and I kinda hope you stick around here SS. I really like this fic so I'll go with a MOAR! I reviewed you on FF.net, you'll be fucked if you're getting another long one.

EDIT: As for your views on women, I kinda feel the same way. Don't get me wrong, sex ftw, but there is a limit. That scene is still one of the lulziest you have written so far.

You have no idea how happy it makes me to see people agreeing with me about that Jacket. I saw a picture of it on the net, printed it out, took it to my tailor and asked him to make me one, lol.

Unfortunately, like Harry in my story, I like looking good and you'll see sometimes on random occasions me probably paying a little too much attention to what he wears - it just helps with his image, i guess. People who dress really well are usually rather intimidating to those around them, especially if they're generally good looking, strong and smart . . .

Especially with Harry and pointed shoes, they're so hot right now that I don't understand why everyone doesn't wear them . . . all i have are pointy shoes and loafers in my collection . . .

    I sounded incredibly gay in that post . . . didn't i?

You did, but if it's out of respect for a good jacket then it's fine. Every guy has an inner gay-fashion-dude. It's a fucking hot Jacket (see how we capitalise it now?).

A little bit, mostly when you were gushing over the shoes. Dressing well is important though. People always comment that I dress too formal for everything. The jacket was great though. Nice to see the intro posted too. I hope you stick around, and I second the advice not to click on Big D's links, or any link for that matter.

Ugh. So they want to have a little sexual fun, big deal?

As for your story, it is pretty good, but Harry really does come off as maybe a little more of an asshole than you might mean him to be (sometimes).

No, he's every bit the asshole I intend him to look like.

A little sexual fun? I can see how that theory may apply if I were one of those guys who go and bang girls just because I can, but I'm not. I guess I'm one of those losers who still actually believes in relationships?

There's nothing legal on the planet that makes me as angry as Promiscuity. Notice, I said legal . . . lol

Haha, I see. Carry on then. :)

I believe in them too. I'm just saying that different people have different views, and if they want to have some sex, then whatever. Unless it's their first time, it's not like a big deal or anything.

WTH? I love the asshole that is Harry in this fic. He's interesting, perverted, and mean as hell. Kinda reminds me of.....well....me many, many moons ago. One of the few Harry's that I agree with and empathize with among the many. Granted, those morals and views kinda die after a decade or two, but refreshing none-the-less.

The picture for Lucile's sword made me borderline homicidal; I have no objection to fantasy blades, but dammit, a sword has to at least look like a usable blade for me to have any respect for it.

Having said that, I don't have any objection to the way you have used swords in the fic, as you have kept them tasteful rather than the usual 'Harry-san' Katana wielding anime fuckwad. Actually, there's very little I object to; I'm among the contingent here (although I'm not one of the more vocal ones) who believe this story deserves Library status. Alas, the vote rules all. Usually.

And while I'll admit that's a damn nice tux, there is nothing on the planet classier than a zoot suit. Nothing. 8)

Unrelated side note: What happened to the quick smiley bar on the right in advanced posting? is repeated, and the fap-monster moved up.

Really, no need to start throwing insults. You apparently missed that I said "like all other longsword-sized blades." Personally I prefer European longswords over Japanese katanas, but I cannot deny that katana is slightly better at cutting up unarmoured people, which wizards tend to be. Honestly, your hatred of one sword type is irrational.

    LOL

You're trying too hard dude. Don't know why you take this shit so seriously.

Onto the main topic, I'll just add that I don't 'hate' Katanas or other japanese swords. However, I do hate them in HP fanfiction. Which are two very different claims.

If you still think that's irrational, then go read a Katanawielding!Harry story and then come back to tell us about the experience.

Now, if you excuse me, I'm going back to irrationally hate japanese fencing.
