This was of utmost beauty. When it was initially loading up, I actually thought this was a lifted scene. Then I realized that even in FF, animated fight scenes are never that good.

Why would you put Aeris in there? She's dead. Zombie Aeris would be interesting though.

That was most entertaining and very well-made. I especially liked the part where Tifa joins in.
Just when I thought 'Hey, I wonder how Tifa would fare against them?', she jumped in. Nice timing.:D

And I agree, Aeris wouldn't do too well in this. She's more of a support-type character, and watching her cast healing spells on others would be rather lame.

    Zombie!Aeris would be... innovative?

Yes, because popularity is the sole and best judge of a game's quality. Uh-huh. Right.

Let's just ignore the faggots swarming about the Halo series like maggots over a half-rotted corpse, eh?

EDIT: And as for elaboration, let me put it this way: Final Fantasy is an average RPG series. Not good. Average. And only barely that. The last actually good FF was... I'd say 6, but I can even deal with saying 7 was the last good one. VIII, IX, X, X-2, and XI (which was one of the WORST FUCKING MMOs I HAVE EVER PLAYED) weren't even worth my time.

The reason I say this is because, quite frankly, there are MUCH better RPGs with MUCH more interesting characters and worlds. Cloud's more or less a fag, Squall's definitely a fag, Tidus gobbles shit to get his dick hard, and most of the other characters from 7 onwards annoy the fuck out of me. Their lines aren't well written, and they just don't seem in the least bit "human". Go play the Fallout series or the Gothic series and come back and tell me that FF is the "bestest series evar lolol".

And, to put it bluntly, JRPGs in general suck dick 99.99% of the time. Yes, I *really love* being railroaded into a single path to go about things. Especially when said single path almost always isn't how I'd do shit. Oh yes, it really makes my dick rock hard, and doesn't break immersion in the least. This is especially a problem when the stories are written for faggot fanboys that are in denial about wanting to ram it up another guy's shithole. (Ever noticed how androgynous the main characters of the FF series tend to be?)

Beyond that, the combat system in FF-- and most other JRPGs, for that matter-- is crap. No, don't even try to argue, it really is shit. If I wanted to sit there and hit one button over and over while occasionally navigating a menu, I'd go sit down next to a slot machine. At least that way there's a *tiny* chance I won't walk away more pissed off than when I sat down. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if there was real character development outside of battle, but FF tends to fail in that regard too, compared to any number of other games.

It's been awhile since I last played FF7, but does Tifa use Ultima when they're running down the tower?

Yea, and i'm sure ping pong is the worst game possible when all you have to do is press a button. If you like overly complicated button pressing games then go play dbz or mortal combat. You'll have tons of time figuring out what to press to get a finishing move there.

And if you don't like halo...or the fans, then you should also piss off some of the C.O.D gamers. I'd like to see that.

I only played final fantasy 13...or was it 12 with that Vaan character. It sucked balls. Really, i hated that game so bad it made me wanna cry why i even bothered to spend any money on it at all. In fact, i think i threw the game out of frustration.

but the fact is, final fantasy was huge, still huge. And only getting bigger. Especially with Final fantasy 7. my friend, a real genius, said the original final fantasy 7 game was the best even now. Because there are so many mysteries and puzzles to solve and figure out even if one did finish the game. There was always something to figure out that is hidden. Games like these are worth it because you gotta think a little other than just pressing buttons, which is why it is so goddamn popular.

And seeing as your only arguing about the crappy combat system, what would you do? Its an rpg. Oblivion seems to be the other type of mode for rpgs but really, seems shitty to me.

Isn't it. Otherwise it would have died out in the market. Why else would it still be here after all these years. Popularity is everything. Even non gamers heard of final fantasy.

Also, why no love for FFIX? I loved that game and still do(which is more than I can say for VIII, X, and XII). Personally I think it's the best FF game since VI. Plus, Freya would make this video a whole new kind of win.

...My god, you're *retarded*. That's the only possible explanation for that abortion of a post. Let's go point by point here.

...What the fuck does this even have to do with boring RPG combat systems? Let me spell it out for you: Final Fantasy has a shitty combat system because it's a static environment with an overly simplified action menu where you're going to use the same handful of button presses over and over. (Item > Whatever potion, Magic > Strongest one available at the time, Attack, Limit. You can beat the game using just that.) You can't move your characters around the battlefield, you can't intentionally position yourself to get the drop on someone before the battle start, and you can't do any number of things that would make combat interesting.

For an example of a good combat system in an RPG, look at Gothic 3: You have control over real factors in the fight such as, say, positioning, the type of attack you make-- Because frankly, there's more than one way to swing a sword-- when you block, etc. etc. It's Oblivion-like, yes, but in the final analysis, it's a lot deeper. And it does this without being the jumbled mess that most fighting games end up as. Or, for another example, look at Fallout. Turn-based, but it works on a hex system where you can take into account positioning and lines of fire-- After all, it's hard to shoot someone when they duck behind a wall. Or, hell, look at a fucking roguelike and you'll *STILL* find a deeper combat system.

    You LOSE!

Lol, what the fuck are they going to do? It's the internet. And in the end, I can rip 99% of people a new asshole in an argument.

Kind of like I'm doing to you right now, actually.

    You LOSE! Again!

*chuckles* Wow, you really suck at this. Mostly because in terms of hidden content/sidequests/extra shit to do, FF7-- And any other game in the FF series, for that matter-- pales in comparison to games from any of the following series:

    1. Fallout
    2. Gothic
    3. Avernum
    4. TES
    5. Ultima (Later parts of the series only, okay, but then again, this was one of the series' that put RPGs on the map. And-- GASP!-- the first game was out SEVEN YEARS before the first Final Fantasy.)
    6. Might and Magic (First game came out a year before the first FF, and the series was just as influential in the development of the genre. Most of the side content is found from 4 onwards, though.)
    7. Metal Max (Japan-only, translation for MMR-- the second? game in the series-- available available from Aeon Genesis Translation Project.)
    8. Star Ocean

And for a handful of individual games, to really hammer the point home:
    1. Eschalon
    2. Arx Fatalis
    3. VtM: Bloodlines

Point is, FF7 really doesn't have that much content besides the main storyline compared to any number of other RPGs. And that list up there is only

    A) off the top of my head
    and
    B) Made of relatively pure RPGs.

If you want to go into games that are a hybrid of RPGs and another genre-- Such as Tactical RPGs-- then the list gets insanely fucking long.

    Lolwut? NEXT!

See, this is what I'm getting at. In any given FF game besides Final Fantasy Tactics, YOU DON'T NEED TO THINK. Mindlessly using the same few commands over and over can win almost any given battle, and unlike most Western RPGs, the choices you make in dialogue are

    A) few and far between
    and
    B) unimportant, in that they usually don't influence the game in the long run.

I love the smell of ROFLcopters descending on a n00b in the morning. Let's continue, shall we?

Go play some of the games I listed. Really. Because you just made yourself sound really, really fucking ignorant.

And, to finish this little bit of dark poetry off...

This statement is so stupid it makes my brain hurt just reading it. Really, it does. Do you pay someone to come up with this shit, or do you just keep a retard in your basement that you beat with a brick from time to time until he utters something that you proceed to scribble down while furiously masturbating?

Popularity means fuck all, son. You could wrap shit in a box, stamp a pretty name on it, and sell it, especially if said name is that of an established series-- Which was pretty much what started happening with Final Fantasy after number 6.

In the final analysis, the Final Fantasy series lacks interesting gameplay, enjoyable stories, a good sense of humor, and artistic merit. About the only points I can give out are for the graphics and the music.

I'd say good job for having the balls to argue your opinion, but frankly, you made such a pathetic showing of it that I can't even say that.

I had that game! Every other person I've met hasn't heard of the damn thing, and it was pretty good too, once you got used to the system. I think I played that before FFVII as well... Can't remember though, that far back it all merges together.

EDIT: FFXII fan 'review'. It's quite funny, watch it.

Oh, Legend of Legaia...how I loved that game. I need to actually buy that game, now that I've been reminded of it.

I wish the guy was better at animating faces, but I suppose one can't complain when the action sequences are that good.

I'm curious as to just how difficult it is. On his Deviant Art page, it says he uses Poser 7, so they should be much, much smoother...*shrug*

Like you said, it's basically splitting hairs at that point. The action is awesome, and this shit is free, sooo...

I had never heard of this before but seeing that i didn't play either game this may be no big surprise there. It is really epic though, great fight scenes. Although I have the feeling that if I were to pick either game up, I would be disappointed if I would compare it to this. Is FF that action packed?

He uses up to FFX so I would have to say no Nemrut.

Although it is worth to play them for the story, few games are able to beat any final fantasy in plot terms.

That said, I liked the first two movies. The action was way better, an had no deus ex ninjas to screw things up. Still, Cloud showed up already, so I'm hoping for some Cloud/Squall/Irvine/Tidus to blow shit up looking for the ladies.

Oh, and I half expected to see someone from Umbrella Corp. Stepping out of the helicopter.

    Edit: Tifa is awesome.

What I want to know is how and why Kairi is dual-wielding not to mention when did she become that competent at wielding a keyblade at all.

Agreed, Chaos Guy. That was the one thing that really made me laugh at the second Dead Fantasy. Where'd you get that second keyblade, Kairi? Thought those were pretty hard to come by.
