Planning on updating anytime soon? Oh, and go on the DLP irc sometime.

On an unrelated issue, I really wish I could ban certain people from reviewing my stories on ff.net. Despite what I say, or what's common sense, people continue to post reviews that AREN'T reviews.

    One or two worders.

    Asking for updates.

    Asking about my other stories.

Asking to continue my abandoned fic.

I shit you not, there was also a review asking for quicker updates, then a request to write a new story based on his own idea.

Does this piss anyone else off who writes stories in FF.net? Or am I just being an ass?

I believe there is a way to block users if you don't want them reviewing/contacting you. Log into your account and click on the Filters link on the left side of your screen and then click Filter/Block Users. It should let you type in the usernames of people you want to block.

Also, I don't really write but reading those types of comments makes even me angry. People should write something more productive than "update soon" or other such drivel. I just find it annoying. If the author can write 5-10k words, then the reader should be able to scrap up a few intelligent things to say. Meh, that's just me though. >.>

I don't think they possess the intelligence to do so (yes I am claiming they are that stupid).

I wanted to ask about the part where author included satellite imagery to locate fidelius covered areas. Lets assume humans cant see the area cause its protected and the satellites can locate them using surrounding areas.

Well if it was so easy to locate a fidelius charm , shouldn't DiagonAlley be far easier to locate for the Muggles who will be wondering what is a Victorian Era town doing in middle of London?

Also i would like to point out that MrJoe is an evil man, after making us an addict to faster updates , then not updating for 18 days. I am on withdrawal.

Well, Diagon Alley is definitely not under Fidelius, so the comparison doesn't work... That is only one more GFoR (Great Fuck-up of Rowling)...

I believe that he is trying to locate a temple which is on an island surround by water, so he used water movement pattern or something like that to locate the temple. Fidelius can only hide the structure, not the surrounding change. (Think of Tomb Raider 2 during the beginning of the movie)

I really doubt Diagon Alley create water movement....

Well Harry is actively looking for things that are hidden magically using logic. Muggles don't know about the magical world and there for won't be looking for things that are invisible. Also if government agencies see area's like this they'll just chalk it up to another magical area.

Also would like to agree with the fact that MrJoe got me addicted to faster updates too because every few days I expect a notification in my email that says the he updated his story.

Well i there are ways to notice differences in Land also like contours which will have a weird pattern.

And about government agencies just chalking it as magical areas. Well not only government has access to satellite imagery ( harry has access to it on his Mac).

And DiagonAlley, I agree has not been handled properly unless it is the wall which is hollow inside and enlarged magically to give the space required to hold the entire Alley.

That would explain why muggles cant detect it.

I was under the impression that Diagon Alley and other such magical landmarks were merely covered with anti-muggle charms (notice-me-nots, muggle-repellants etc etc.), much like the Quidditch World cup was.

There is no way Diagon Alley can be under the Fidelius, it just isn't practical. Not only is it a huge area to have under a Fidelius charm, but you'd have to constantly tell people the secret when they enter it for the first time, and that includes tourists.

The reason why I haven't posted the next chapter yet is because I'm having a lot of trouble with school. I have an assignment that I need to do in Python, and I fucking hate programming.

Regarding Diagon Alley, they may have made a plaque/sign of some sort visible only to magical folks thus granting wizards and witches easy access. The author said that he is updating KIP next.

Honestly, the speedy update rate of this story is one of it's major selling points. If the update rate gets reduced to that of a typical story, then you may find yourself losing a lot of readers. You tend to cover a fair amount of ground per chapter, and it's a pain to have to re-read chapters to remember what's happening in the story.

I'm not trying to bully you into writing faster, etc, because I know how fickle the Gods of Writing can be, but... yeah.

I've seen some really long updated stories. Like Ascension Of The Scorpion Sorcerer, orAn Alternate Adventure: Goblet of Fire some took at least a year to update the last chapter and I completely forgot what any of them were about. But then again I'm a patient man....I can wait. that is unless they throw a cliffhanger then I'll be forced forget about the fic so I won't pester the author for an update ;)

Do you want to know how much I care? I write for myself, not the readers, the fact that people like it is just a bonus. At the moment, I rate my schooling higher than my hobbies, and when I get swamped with homework, that needs to be done before I continue writing.

Unless you enjoy irritating me, I'd stop pestering me about updates, especially considering it's only been just over two weeks . . .

You gotta do what you gotta do. At this point the only thing that would get me upset is if you abandon all your stories. Especially when they are just getting interesting. PMN I got over quickly because of how the manga was going but the others are really good and I enjoy reading them. Well good luck with your Python assignment

Christ, I fucking hate when people say that. People who write for themselves don't post shit on a high traffic website that they can't lock people out of. Point blank period. You're right, no one should nag you about when/how much you're gonna right, but please don't come around with that "I write for myself" bullshit. It's just not true.

QFT. This span of time is pretty much nothing compared to just about every other story out there, including fangirl shitfics.

Not true? How is it not true? The only reason I write is to better my writing skills. If I could do so and have as many people judge it in another way other than posting it on ff.net, trust me, I would.

If I get into the creative writing course at my university, and my professor agrees to not only read it, but give me tips on improving my writing style . . . well, I guess you can figure out what will happen.

Fanfiction is fun and all, but it isn't the real thing. I can hardly take credit for anything I write that's a fanfic, because all the hard work is done for me. Anyone who has read enough can come up with a decent plot, it takes true skill to invent your own universe . . . something I hope to have someday (I've actually started creating a new universe for a novel I wouldn't mind trying sometime in the future, but it's a freaking hard process . . . Tolkien is a fucking genius).

That he [Tolkien] is mate...I sympathize with you...and I suppose I agree that you are writing for improving your own skills. But it is as you said, a way to get some measure of your audience if you want to become an author. What better way to know than to have people pestering you for updates? It means that they are enjoying your work and can't wait to see more of it! It's pretty flattering actually...though I suppose in your position, working on hated assignments, it might seem irritating. I do hope your python thing goes well and quickly...;) I am one of those eagerly waiting to see where you take us next...

It could be a compliment, or a testament to how crappy, and in few number, H/F fics are . . .
