I wouldn't say that. The only person Harry knows who has killed a dragon maybe, but not the only one ever. Dresden Files borrows heavily from medieval folklore and the likes, so most things mentioned will have a counterpart in real life mythology. Dragons and dragon killers would be one of them.

I can't remember where on the Forum's (JB's Forum, that is), but I remember something about only two human's, Michael included, ever killing dragons. But don't quote me on that, as I can't remember where.

Maybe I should have been more specific. Michael is the only person we know of who has killed a dragon in the Dresdenverse.

That's what I'm saying, and the fact that Harry doesn't act that surprised by knowing that Michael has slain a dragon tells me that it's not an impossible task where only a few destined people are able to do it.

Also, RJL is very perceptive. I was indeed thinking of St. George when contemplating other dragon killers.

Yeah yeah, I'm necro'ing the thread. But on the up-side, a new book just came out this month so maybe people have new favorites... or something.

I like Harry the best I think. I'm also fond of Ebenezer McCoy, Mouse, Bob, Michael and Molly.

With Murphy it seems to be all or none -- I either love the parts with her in it, or I don't like them.

I can't get into the Sidhe/Denarian characters much. I don't like Mab, Maeve, Lily, Aurora, Nicodemus, Tessa, Lasciel or most of the others in those categories. Lea and Toot are ok. Lash is... undecided.

I liked the concept/idea of Demonreach, though I don't know if that counts.

On a similar note. I just wandered over to the Official Dresden Files forums for the first time and noticed a poll there for favorite characters (it's set up so you can pick your Top 3), and I thought that might be sort of cool to have going here.

** http://www.jimbutcheronline.com/bb/index.php/topic,11918.0.html ** In case you were curious.

I was going to make a poll here just for the hell of it but (1) I can't figure out how to do that, (2) it might be considered redundant because of this thread, and (3) I probably can't figure it out because I'm not cleared to make polls, only posts (yeah?)

Do we even have a poll for Top 2-3 Favorite Characters from the Harry Potter series? I mean, I know no one HERE would pick Ginny (heaven forbid I certainly wouldn't), but might be interesting to see the distribution. If there is one I can't find it, so could someone point me that way if it exists? Also, the more I think about it, the harder it is for me to come up with anyone from the Harry Potter series that I genuinely like. I'm currently drawing a blank, which I find odd.

I would sort of like to see the distribution of favorites here though, curious if it's the same or similar, etc. If not though, that works too.

It's a bit odd that I just got so completely into these books recently. I'd read the first 8 or so a while back and thought they were good enough, but then suddenly I just thought they were the best things ever. Go figure.

    Cheers,
    CT
